Johnson Street Festival

Yesterday was the first ever Johnson Street Festival and Block Party

The lower half of Johnson St. a.k.a. 'LoJo' is well known for
designer shopping and local boutiques. For the first time,
they closed down LoJo for a Block Party and Sidewalk Sale

I got there a little too early and most of the booths we're only starting to set up

But I took a bunch of pictures you can scroll through...

Little girl in a Princess costume with a yellow balloon

Lululemon

There were tables to color and create your own t-shirt :)

The little boy in the picture was so excited to go in the bouncy castle that he
tripped, awe. But he was much too happy to bother with tears, what a trooper lol

There was a huge Cardboard Castle and Maze to play in and paint as well

Plus a smaller bouncy Dino for the younger children like myself ;)

PS. Chelsey made a gluten-free version of my "Fig Scuffins".
Check out her fabulous "Cranberry Walnut Scuffins" here

PSS. Asha tried out one of my stir-fries which you can check out here

  7. Hello lovely!

Why does it seem like Victoria has way more events going on than Vancouver!? That looks so fun!!

This weekend I'm a little under the weather so I'm just trying to relax so I can feel normal again!!!

    Have a happy sunday!!!

  8. That festival looks so neat! And Johnston St looks sooo charming!! It definitely looks like there were a lot of things to keep everyone entertained :D

I've spent my last weekend mostly hanging out with friends and just having fun. I've also been able to catch up on some sleep by not having to wake up early woo woo

    XOXO

  9. Sounds like a fun time - did you only spend time there before it opened, or did you get to wander around later as well?

I've spent my weekend doing many of my favorite things: making jam, reading (finished Mitch Albom's "Have a Little Faith" in two days, and cried my eyes out), running, and gardening.

  11. This looks so neat!! What a fun way to spend the day. :) You definitely have the coolest stuff going on around you. I think it's awesome that you are always out finding these events.

My weekend hasn't been quite so exciting. The 'highlight' for me has been running 18 miles. Not super fun, but definitely feels good to be done. :)

Haha, "stir fries will rule the world." - luv it! You're too cute for words Kelsey!

I've been trying to soak up as much of the summer sun with the kiddies as I can. You know how many few summer days us Canadians get.

  17. What a cool event!!! I love how that part of the city has had such a turn around. I remember when I first moved to Victoria, some six years ago, I wouldn't go further than Johnson Street on Government - because it was sketch city. That was long before the days of the MEC building of course. Now it's an awesome place to be!

  26. So fun! I love the street festivals in NYC. Although, the people in the massage tents are usually very pushy and annoying...not relaxing at all, ha! The weather was lovely this weekend, and sadly I didn't spend enough time outside. Well, I went to a cookout and had a nice walk in Central Park, but the rest of the time was spent sleeping and boozing. Not cool!

  37. What a fun festival! We need more things like that where I live. I love how kids can fall and be fine or fall and cry depending on their surroundings or what they are trying to get to. :) My last weekend in August was spent with good friends, good food, and cleaning closets.

  38. What a cool place! I love the cardboard castle and those gray bootie shoes are adorable.

  40. I laughed really hard at the lose 10 000 pounds in 2010. Or was that lose 10 pounds with a comma instead of a decimal? My geeky brain is at work again ;) Looked like lotsa fun!

  41. I love outdoor festivals! They always bring out the most interesting people.

My last weekend in August was spent with my favorite boys, and included some gardening and a visit to our local farmer's market, where I made a new friend. Then, we let the baby skinnydip in his kiddie pool. Too fun!
