Venus Sophia

From time to time I like to highlight special eateries around town that I absolutely adore! Newly opened, Venus Sophia Tea Room is a little slice of heaven in the heart of Chinatown. From the moment you step inside, you are encaptured in a quaint Parisian-esque cafe; From the lighting, decorations, colors, themes, nostalgic music and old world charm, a sense of imagination and oneness is abound. Visionary, Jill Heffner, owns and operates Venus Sophia alongside her husband. She is the energy and soul of the place, and was a pleasure to talk with!

The menu caters to all dietary lifestyles from vegans, vegetarians, celiacs, raw foodists, and concious meat-eaters alike. I couldn't believe how delicious the desserts were, there were no shortage of options! They even sell their own assortment of teas, alongside greeting cards and adorable trinkets nonetheless. What could be better? How about a string orchestra or swing band playing live inside while you dance along or observe over a cup of tea...

My mom and I were more than impressed with Venus Sophia, and plan to make many trips back here! And what better place to relax in on Mother's Day.

I need to get down there! Is that where the Moka House was for a little while?

If it is, that place got an upgrade!

I absolutely love tea rooms! I love that you and your mom do that together. I cannot wait to have a little girl so I can take her to a tea room. I can take my boys but boys + breakables = NOT GOOD.

my girlfriends Wendy and Mikki and i found Venus Sophia one night while wondering through Chinatown and it was right at closing time...BUT did they close when they saw our big eyes longing to get into the cafe and look around. Nope, they welcomed us in with open arms and let us browse, shop and enjoy to our hearts content. This place is a little piece of heaven and i tell everyone i know going to Victoria it is a MUST SEE...MUST EAT...MUST SHOP place and the owners are absolute angels. Spread the news peoples...we need lovely places like this to stay open and flourish. xo from Sheila in Winnipeg
