Sugar Donuts and Peanut Butter Binges

Sometimes I get so hungry I can't think straight. That's exactly what happened
to me this evening! Peanut Butter and Raspberry Jam with Honey smothered on
Gluten Free Bread with 1.5 Gluten Free Cinnamon Sugar Donuts on the side!

It was a Homer Simpson sugar affair

Question: Do you ever treat yourself to a bunch
of sugar and desserts in excess like I did?

October Snacking

Yes, Snacking Squirrel has come down
from her nest to frolic, feast and fraternize.

And I come bearing a simple but oh so favorite snack time combination:
Peanut Butter on Crackers with end of season Organic Blueberries

Now, I'm off to enjoy my afternoon snack... and soak up this lovely, sunny
October weather we're so fortunate to be having on Vancouver Island

See you all very soon!

White Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chunks!

My poor banana has been taken by SIN!

I blame delectable wonders of White Chocolate
Wondeful Peanut Butter by PeanutButter&Co !!!

Peanut Butter on Banana with Vegan Chocolate Chunks!!!

To garnish (hehehe), I grabbed a small handful of Enjoy Life Foods
Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mega Chunks because, (in my opinion),
chocolate provides a needed KICK to such a memorably classic snack

Question: How do you "garnish" your bananas?

Squash Snack and Nut Butter Spread

It's a rare treat when I actually slow down long enough to get creative with my snacking

Leftover roasted kabocha squash from last night made for a perfect afternoon treat!

Kabocha Squash, Blueberries, and 2 different Nut Butters

Butterbecause life is so much richer when you've got options ;)

I made this visually pretty for all of you, right down to the colorful bird napkin haha

Question: What was the last
"creative" snack you made for yourself?

Sandwich and Candy

Lunch started out pretty healthy...

Gluten free brown rice sandwich

With kale, egg, smoked chicken breast, red onion and mustard

Love my runny yolks

But I was still hungry when I finished and reached for a not-so-conventional snack...

Peanut M&M's candy!

Had more than a couple handfuls

But you know what, I was full after so I guess
candy-coated chocolate was just what I needed ;)

Snickers Peanut Butter Candy Bar

When you're hungry, grab a Snickers. New Peanut Butter Snickers Bar

A little junk food for the brain done right, this was one of the
best candy bars I've had. The combination of creamy and crunchy
peanut butters with chewy chocolate coating was just perfect

Tomorrow is my birthday, so a girl's gotta celebrate :)

Chocolate Peanut Protein Pick-Me-Up

I was in terrible need of a pick-me-up this
morning, so I opted for my trusted protein bar

Chocolate Peanut Butter Clif Builder's Bar

20 grams of protein and fuel to blast through the morning

Each bite becoming more delicious and satisfying

So naturally, I took a lot of photos as I ate my way through

Good 'til the last drop bite

Question: Besides coffee of course,
what picks you up on tired mornings?

Squirrel Shaped Bread

There is always room for fun and art in the kitchen!

I made "Squirrel Bread" after seeing Squirrel Toast from the blog,
A Whisk and Two Wands. She did a much better job on hers than mine

Even Snacking Squirrel a.k.a. "Nutters" came over to check himself out ;)

"I don't think this looks like me, Kelsey!"

I made a vague cut-out of a squirrel and then added an almond in
his paws, a dried cranberry for an eye, and a cashew for his eyebrow

The tail was cut out from another slice of  gluten free bread and
spread with creamy peanut butter, making it look bushy and fluffy

Let me just say I ate the tail as soon as I finished taking photos ;)

Not the most artistic work I have done but it's still cute nonetheless

Happy snacking!
