DunnEnzie's Pizza Co.

I recently moved to Kelowna and was desperate to find a pizza joint that
had the most satisfying gluten free pizza with lactose free cheese. After
having walked past DunnEnzie's Pizza Co., many times over and over,
salivating at the smell of fresh cooked pizza pies, I went to check it out

DunnEnzie's atmosphere is UPBEAT, urban with a vintage twist, and
the kindest, FRIENDLIEST, hardworking staff. Even on a busy day, you
can just walk in and the wait time has always been shorter than predicted

One of the staff members, Jessie, even used his own artistic talent to
paint a feature wall mural that is stunning, impressive, and left me
feeling grateful my pizza was being served up with an Artist's touch

To my surprise, they had gluten free pizza with DAIYA CHEESE;
not just the usual "lactose free cheese" other pizzeria's serve up

Showing my appreciation for my boyfriend,
having treated me to a dine-in/take-out date night

Gluten Free Pineapple and Spinach Pizza with Extra Daiya Cheese

I savored every bit of it (and even shared a little too with my man)

Among the amazing thorough list of fun and creative pizza names and
toppings, they are open to different personalized selections to allow the
customer to feel like they are really getting the most bang for their buck...

...speaking of which, the price is quite reasonable and in fact the
cheapest I have found in regards to the quality of ingredients used

FIVE STARS!!!!! I will be back for more as my
taste buds won't let me stop talking raving about it

Trust me on this one, head to DunnEnnzie's Pizza Co.
downtown if you're in the neighbourhood. Even if just for
a fresh and hot single slice, you will be so glad you did!!!

The Noodle Box

When I finally caught on that The Noodle Box caters to food allergies by offering
gluten free (and vegan) options, I couldn't miss another chance to grab take-out

We might call this the "Roodle" rice/noodle combination :)

Gluten Free Version: Rice noodles, garlic, peppers, stir-fried chicken
slices, Asian greens, sprouts, and black bean sauce with just a bit of sesame

And a cute little lime wedge on top

It was still piping hot when I opened the box, perfect!

Digging down for the rice noodle goodness...

I couldn't have been more impressed or satisfied with this meal. I loved the adorable
and clever take-out box the food is presented in, and that it kept the product insulated
to retain optimal heat. The flavours concluded a clever mix of bold, mildly spicy, robust
with a modest, fresh and light tone. Basically, I couldn't put my fork down!

The Coup Restaurant

Yesterday I met up with one of my best friends back
home who happened to be in Calgary this week visiting

Lounge, a popular vegetarian eatery on 17th Ave

The menu: Small Bites and Appetizers

Salads

The Coup is dedicated to providing customers with quality organic and
local food, all made from scratch. They compost, minimally use recycled
paper products, and features plenty of gluten-free and/or vegan options

We decided to share a couple dishes that our lovely waitress suggested for us

Starting with their full-sized Organic Rainbow Greens Salad

Shredded carrots, beets, pea shoots, rainbow greens
and seeds with a light Tomato, Leek & Herb Dressing

It was so refreshing and crisp

After tasting a couple different organic wines from their menu we
decided to order a glass of our favourites; Forbidden Fruit Pearsuasion
Dry White Wine for my friend and Castelmaure Red Wine for myself

Our shared entree was the Dragon Bowl with a Green Curry and Coconut Sauce

Steamed and fresh seasonal veggies with stir-fried tofu on quinoa,
topped with cilantro, seeds/nuts, with a Green Curry and Coconut Sauce

And after our incredibly scrumptious and healthy dinner, we
headed to the mall to take silly photo booth pictures together

Red Velvet Cupcake

What's great about having a new bakery
open up a couple stores down from your job?

It means your boss will occasionally surprise
the staff with motivation, sugar-filled motivation

And because I'm sensitive to wheat/gluten, she bought me this Gluten Free
Red Velvet Cupcake from Buttercream Bake Shoppe in The Core Shopping Centre

They also have vegan options for those who cannot tolerate dairy

The cupcake was so pretty to look at, reminiscent of a rose

I was so impressed with the fudgy and moist texture of the cupcake base

And the icing wasn't too sweet and tasted
similar to cream cheese frosting on carrot cake

Oh and by the way, I totally ate this for breakfast...shhh!
