Squirrel Shaped Bread

There is always room for fun and art in the kitchen!

I made "Squirrel Bread" after seeing Squirrel Toast from the blog,
A Whisk and Two Wands. She did a much better job on hers than mine

Even Snacking Squirrel a.k.a. "Nutters" came over to check himself out ;)

"I don't think this looks like me, Kelsey!"

I made a vague cut-out of a squirrel and then added an almond in
his paws, a dried cranberry for an eye, and a cashew for his eyebrow

The tail was cut out from another slice of  gluten free bread and
spread with creamy peanut butter, making it look bushy and fluffy

Let me just say I ate the tail as soon as I finished taking photos ;)

Not the most artistic work I have done but it's still cute nonetheless

Happy snacking!

Disgustingly Delicious Dessert

Sometimes you've got to get a little messy!

It's basically everything sinful I could find in the house, packed into
a parfait cup. What's inside you ask? Well pretty much everything...

1/2 a banana, some chocolate protein pudding
1 broken peanut butter granola bar2 Tbsp of a
melted chocolate bar, 1 tsp peanut butter and
topped with a scoop of vanilla soy ice cream!!!

The reason it's so messy is I nuked it in the microwave,
before adding the ice cream, and it sort of bubbled over ;)

F*** was this delicious though. Well worth the non-creative effort that went into it

Question: Do you ever make food
that is too un-blogging-pretty to show?

JK Gourmet's Product Review

I was so excited when I was contacted to try some
new Grain-Free JK Gourmet's new line of products!

It felt like an early Christmas gift in the mail

So kitty and I got together to open it up and sort through the goodies

Careful little one, there is chocolate in there!

Here's what I found inside...

A list of the 3 products: Chocolate, Granola, and GG Bites

The beautifully wrapped loot

Let's unwrap this and look more in depth...

A new line of honey-sweetened artisan chocolate, granola, and GG Bites nut/seed snaps

The original GG Bites are truly "better-than-sesame-snaps" with their crispy
texture, chewy bite and rich flavor, naturally sweetened for a powerful energy boost!

Next, the Cranberry & Cashew Granola which immediately set my taste buds
into a frenzy with its subtle tartness, delicate sweetness, and great crunchy texture.
I enjoyed some in a bowl with almond milk, a perfect afternoon or morning treat!

Lastly, the Almond & Cherry Chocolate Bar was the most anticipated.
Honestly, I wasn't as excited as I expected a typical creamy chocolate, but this
bar packs more. It reminded me of a protein bar meets a chocolate bar, but with
a crunchy and crispy texture. I thought it would make for a great snack as you
could slowly tear off a few pieces throughout your day. It wasn't as sweet
as I expected either, which isn't necessarily a bad thing ;)

Overall I give JK gourmet's products a 4 out of 5 stars for creating healthy
and delicious snack foods that don't come with the guilt. I am used to sweeter
foods so if only it were a touch sweeter, I would have given them full points

Product Information

Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Paleo-Friendly, and so much more!

The many different Granolas

I highly recommend you try some of these products, you'll be just as surprised :)

Thank you for letting me review such fabulous treats!

Caramel, Cheddar, and Chocolate

I am in love with this new dessert/snack combination:
Cheddar and Caramel Popcorn with Chocolate and Almond

The popcorn is G.H. Cretor's Chicago Mix which is addictive as ****

The delicious chocolate bar

Endangered Species Milk Chocolate with Almonds

12 beautifully crafted squares

Just the right fuel I need to finish packing for my move to Calgary, Alberta tonight!

I love this chocolate bar for being rich and creamy, but not cloyingly sweet

And paired with the popcorn I must say, my taste buds are in heaven

Have a great weekend everyone!
