Getting Rid of Fruit Flies

As the Summer comes to a close, the bounty of leftover ripened fruit begins to
breed harvest to a new infestation of household insect: The Fruit Fly. Fruit Flies
are a nuisance, they'll drive a person insane; Thankfully there's a solution to that!

Fruit Fly Extermination: Fill a cup/glass/jar with 1/4 cup
of Apple Cider Vinegar and place it in the corner of your kitchen,
or wherever the Fruit Flies reside, preferably on a windowsill

More than the smell of over-ripe bananas and sweet sticky fruit,
Fruit Flies cannot resist Apple Cider Vinegar. It won't take long
for them to start swarming around your homemade "Death Trap"

"Come for a swim little friends, muahahahaha"

At first they skim around the top drinking the vinegar,
then they start doing backstrokes and breaststrokes in it

Check back the next day, and you will find them DEAD! I mean it's Apple
Cider Vinegar, it's bound to be poisonous, what did they expect! haha

Okay sure, this isn't the most "humane" way to get rid of Fruit Flies, but it's the
best. Fruit Flies normally live for 30 days, so if you want to wait that out, you can
...but by then I'm sure they've had plenty of Fruit Fly Babies. You do the math ;)

All of my efforts to be humane fly right out the window when bugs are involved.. no matter how big or little they may be! ICK!! Great trick tho ;-) Thanks for sharing.

Waw, didn't know Apple Cider Vinegar could be a mass murderer! Thanks for the tip!

I always use an orange pricked with cloves. Also works great!

I do this every year. Fruit flies are such a pain. I set up one of these traps at home, and at work. I've heard you can use wine too, or any sweet kind of vinegar, but apple cider is the only one I've ever had much success with. Plus, Im not willing to waste wine like that. :)

Wow, this stuff is a great alternative to those disgusting roach sprays. I always have some ripe fruit so thanks for this tip!

This works like a charm! I seriously don't kill any animals on purpose EXCEPT fruit flies. My fiance teases me that I'm a "bad vegan" for trapping those suckers, but I don't feel any guilt because otherwise they take over the apartment! Ugh.
