Brownies. Bushes. Bananas. Blogging.

Lately i've been spending more time
in the sun than I have online.

I haven't been commenting much, probably because
the sun has fried my brain cells. I did however
get around to trying out the brownie bites I got :)

Olympic Organic Plain Yogurt

Feed Your Body Gluten-Free Original Brownie Bits

These totally remind me of those "Two-Bite Brownies"

Drool-worthy for sure. It will be a very
sad day when these babies are all gone !!!

Before it got too hot, I went for a walk/
hike up Mount Tolmie in the morning.

Probably having more fun with the camera...

Almost at the top!

It was scorching by the time I got up. You
should have seen the sweat dripping off me!

Yay, we're done.
Thanks for hiking with me :)

Oh and I bought bananas on the way home
to re-fuel...yup i'm a monkey, not a squirrel!

Question: Do you find you blog and
comment more or less in the summer time?

I think it's been something we've all been realizing - there's much less discussion on the blogs. But I think that's a good thing. We all need to get out and enjoy the summer! (even if it's a bit warm for my taste...)

It really depends on what is going on in my life but there are times where I blog and comment a lot or others where I do less of both. No worries though lady! Looks like an amazing hike!

oooh brownies and hiking - what a great combo to fill your day :)

You can for reals take me hiking with you and I want it to be that hill/mountain/thing we hike because it looks breathtaking!

Haha, I remember those two-bite brownies! We use to eat them all the time.. until I turned into a little health nut. :)

I actually blog.. the same. Actually I think that I've been blogging MORE. I don't think that has anything to do with it being summer though, I've just been feeling more inspired.

I love the look of your brownie mess! Glad that the brownies are a hit!

And that looks like such a beautiful nature hike! I went on one today too...it was a walk/run (I'm just getting my running stride back..I was out of commission for a while for various reasons and it will be a long time before I'm back to full strength...not that I was ever that strong or fast to begin with but you know what I mean!) Anyway, I finally found a nice "nature-esque" trail...it's actually near my mother's house. I was also dripping with sweat after my run/walk this morning! Literally.
The post-workout shower was the best feeling ever.

I'm definitely not blogging frequently right now but I think that is more due to illness and depression than the fact that it is summer. But yes, the heat does take a lot out of me and I get fatigued more easily, so I don't comment quite as much. I comment on the people that I've known and loved since the beginning...and any new friends that happen to stop by my blog. And I usually leave super long detailed comments too. But I don't go out of my way to find new blogs to read and comment on- just too tired and don't have the time! Although I'm sure there are a lot of amazing ones out there. Wish I could read everything but life is too short to spend it behind a computer anyway, right?

I find that I blog much more in the summer because I am not busy with school. Well, I am in online summer school but its not nearly as time consuming! I am going hiking with my sis tomorrow! Kind of excited? I am not much of a hiker! But looks like you had fun =)

Oh my gosh the brownie bits with the yogurt looks so good!

I haven't been blogging that long, but I feel like I am more active online over the summer just because I am so busy when I have classes and am working.

Fun hike! Those brownies looks absolutely excellent - I love two bite brownies!

My comments vary from day to day - sometimes I will comment on everything, other days I don't feel like it. I always read, but may not always comment.

enjoy life outdoors my friend!!! no apologies for commenting, posting, etc...LIFE is way more imp than blog stuff. period. :)

Your brownie bowl looks so so good! I loved seeing the pictures of your hike...it feels so good to get outside and experience the beauty of summer.

HOLY COW I want brownie bits!!!! GF too? Yum! Well, actually, I just had brownies the past few days at grandma's house. She is great- made a whole pan of GF vegan low-fat brownies that tasted so incredibly incredible!

Hiking is fun, but the hot weather with it sounds tough. It has finally started to heat up where I am-- the 90 degree weather today was such a blessing! (probably won't feel like that tomorrow, when it's even hotter. Must go to the pool!)

Love what you did with the brownie bites!

I prob blog/comment more in the summer but that's because my schedule eases off, and I'm home more often when everyone else is at work. x

Anonymous said... [reply]

I've never tried anything chocolate in yogurt before.. the combination doesn't sound too good for me, but I suppose I should give it a go :)

You're so lucky that you have a hiking trail nearby! I have the beach right now, and it's amazing to wlak down. Walking is truly more enjoyable when you get to do it in a beautiful place, no?

Blogging for me in the summer is starting to dwindle.. though I can't tell if it is because of the heat or because I have been seriously busy with work. Getting my life back can be crazy! hehe.. I love it though :)

(PS.. the muffin in your last post looks SO amazing.)

Sounds like you're enjoying your summer and that's what you should be doing. I have only been blogging since October so I have no comparison. I guess this time I am blogging way more LOL ;-) Enjoy girl!

What a gorgeous view! I go through blogging phases- sometimes I'm really into it and other tims I get super busy and don't have a chance to post very often. I love it though so I'm trying to be better! : )

Enjoy the weather!!

Anonymous said... [reply]

I've been blogging pretty consistently, but I think that's more because I feel like I should, and not because I really want to. Like yesterday, the weather outside was absolutely beautiful and I wanted to go lay outside, but my Google Reader was stacking up and it was kind of stressing me out. So I improvised and took my laptop outside. Sigh. Blogging can be such a curse and a blessing at the same time...

I'd say overall I blog/comment less, but I still read them all! I love staying in touch with everyone!

Gorgeous trail you walked on....and not a cloud in the sky! :)

I blog when I can and comment when I want to. I don't feel forced to do anything. If my reader is full and I have been gone for a while...I'll just start from that day...I don't feel like I need to go back and "catch up". I don't watch much tv, so on my down time in the evening, I will blog or write. Not everything has to be a novel either. Enjoy your fresh air! Have a great day Kelsey!

What a gorgeous hike!!!

I feel like I probably have more time to blog in the summer, since I'm not taking summer classes. That doesn't mean that's what happens, though. ;)

I've only started to get into this blogging thing this summer...so I can't say! I know that once school starts again I'd be soooo swamped that I probably won't have so much time to blog/read/comment! :-(

Lovely trail! Yeah, it does look very hot..haha.

Brownies mixed with yogurt is probably the best idea ever!! I definitely read and comment a little less in the summer, but still try to take some time to relax and read though :)

By the way, I found you through Eats Well With Others' blog :)

What a beautiful way to spend your summer day: hiking! Even though I'm home more, my google reader seems to be filling up more than I can handle. I would love to comment more, but am not always able to since I have lots of other things going on. Have fun doing your summery things and blog when you can/want. The summer is all about fun!

Have a lovely day!

Comment/blog way less in the summer because there's so much more to do outside!!

Those brownie bites look AWESOME.

Yummy brownies! I love crumbling up baked goods into yogurt.

I've seen that brand of yogurt in my grocery store but never tried it. What do you think of it?

I've been blogging more since summer started since I have so much more free time now. I still have plenty of time to enjoy the sun and outdoors though! :)

Anonymous said... [reply]

What a great hike! I need to hit up the trails by my house - I always do it in the fall, but hardly ever in the summertime!

Yep, definitely comment/read blogs less when its nice outside - some weekends I'll just to my post and not touch the computer til Monday morning - its nice to unplug every once in a while!

Happy Friday!

Erica said... [reply]

Brownie bites? Nothing wrong with that- yummy! Beautiful hike. I need to get back out into the woods. Josh and I had a blast last time we hiked. I think I am blogging pretttty much the same amount in the summer. But sometimes the weekends do get too hectic for a lot of commenting

Now thats what I am talking about, yummy yogurt and brownie bites. Perfect combo. I love hiking and being outdoors. So yes, less blogging in summer. More sunshines and snacking though. ;)

Anonymous said... [reply]

I want to go on a hike! I love being in nature and being surrounded by it. I would love to go to the Amazonians at some point in my life so I can really immerse myself in it. When I go running I do it outside and there's some primal force that overcomes me and it makes running so much more fun! So dramatic lol!

Those brownie bites DO look delicious. Maybe you can look up a recipe that uses similar ingredients? I picked up some cookbooks yesterday at the library and gaah I'm even more inspired to bake things!!!

I find myself commenting less during the summer. I don't know.. it's just hard for me to sit behind a computer for long amounts of time. I usually read a few blogs at a time.. like in chunks because I can't do it all at once. I would go nuts! lol

XOXO

p.s. I just bought another kabocha!! The market I found it at doesn't have them all the time and it was the last one when I went yesterday. AHH!!!

Brownie bits look yum!! I love hikig, I wish I could do it more often!

Anonymous said... [reply]

So 10 thumbs up for the brownies in yogurt!!!! My idea was a hit? It looks sooooo good!!
Where were you hiking? Looks like it was fun!
Summer blogging.... well thats all I know. I just started this whole blogging thing..... so ask me in september! haha

Anonymous said... [reply]

I'm having a little trouble finding time to blog right now...but lately, it's not really a matter of blog vs. outdoor fun. It's more like blog vs. sleep, because the only time I can really spend time online is at night, after my son goes to sleep. During the day is limited to a quick email check!

I feel bad that I haven't been commenting much. I really like to read other blogs, and my traffic is suffering terribly! But then, it wouldn't be good to neglect the other parts of my life either.

Blogging is like healthy eating and everything else...it's all a balancing act!

Anonymous said... [reply]

Those brownie bites look amazing! Where can you find those?? I don't blame you at all for spending more time in the sun than the blogs. I wish I could have joined you on the hike, it looks pretty and peaceful :)

This is my first summer blogging, but I think my posts (and comments) have definitely declined since the spring!

erica said... [reply]

yum those brownie bites look so good! I need to learn how to make good protein shakes like you mentioned!

I love hiking! Those pictures are beautiful!

I've been blogging about the same, but that's because I do a lot of reading/commenting at work so the weather doesn't make much difference.

Anonymous said... [reply]

Lovely hike but I can only IMAGINE trying to do it in the crazy heat wave right now. It's hardly even tolerable going outside lately!

I definitely don't blog as much OR comment as much in the summer. Just things going on, trying to be outdoors etc. Especially the blogging less part... my meals are a LOT less structured right around now aka I snack constantly and hardly ever seem to take pictures or have many blog worthy eats at all for that matter!

Ann Claire said... [reply]

Looks like a fun hike! and those brownies look very tasty! I can't really answer the question seeing as I"ve only had blog since summer, I"ll have to see in the fall how I do on blogging/commenting.

Anonymous said... [reply]

What a wonderful place to hike!!
I like to blog more in the summer because I have lots more free tim. :-)

Alycia @ Fit n Fresh said... [reply]

I definitely think I blog/comment less often in the summer - but I'm totally cool with that. I think it's good to get outside and far better to be there than on the computer for five hours straight (which I'm sure I've done before, trust me)

Thanks for the makeshift hike! (:

Anonymous said... [reply]

Mm, those brownie bites look wonderful. I love hiking so much. :)

Yeah, I definitely blog/comment less in the summer. I have so much to do and it feels like I'm always busy. I don't want to be chained to a chair all the time, you know?

Anonymous said... [reply]

i think i have more time to blog/comment during the summer when im at home, but now that im leaving for south africa.... will not have time at all =( (but actually it will prob be a good break from the internet! haha)

Joanne said... [reply]

I really like blogging at regular times (early. In the morning.) and so I started to take weekends off this summer so I can go out on Friday nights without thinking/worrying about having to get up early to blog. I get up early anyway though because of my ridiculous body clock...but it will be good practice for when school starts again and i have less time.

I'm SO glad you're enjoying the sun. Those brownies looks fantastic!

ac said... [reply]

Gorgeous hike! Although--you're wearing black pants in the scorching heat??!

Yes, it's funny that you should post about not blogging so much in the summer, since I have been finding myself retracting from the blogging world lately--but I'm not sure if this is due to the fried brain cells, the summer in general, or just my feelings overall. Weird. But we'll figure it out. We always do.

Lastly, please don't turn into a monkey on me. I've already gotten used to you as a squirrel!

I definitely have been blogging less, but I hope to come up with a regular blogging schedule soon!

Your pictures look so beauitful!

Anonymous said... [reply]

Certainly your readers are commenting pretty consistently, which is a great sign.

I've been trying to blog every day, because I don't want to lose readers, which happens sometimes when I take a day off here and there. But I've been getting lots of ideas for posts, which has been exciting.

As for commenting, I haven't been as steady with comments as I was before summer began, mostly because I've found so many blogs that I like, and if I commented on every post, it would take me all day. I try to look at my reader every few days, and choose my favorite posts to comment on.

Anonymous said... [reply]

I've definitely been blogging/commenting less since summer started. Partly because I like to be outside in my free time, but mostly because I've been traveling so much! I used to try to catch up on weekend mornings, but I feel like I'm ALWAYS driving somewhere...and when I'm visiting people, it's hard to hide out by myself and blog haha.

I still try to read whenever I can...I just don't comment as much. Which I feel bad about, but you've got to find the balance somehow.

Anyway, that hike looked so fun! I love going for impromptu hikes in the summer. It's just so nice to be able to walk and enjoy the scenery.
