Turkey Tuesday

I've been really busy this week, so finding quick lunch ideas that are pack-and-ready-to-go are so important. Red Barn Market is the best place in Victoria to purchase naturally raised meats. They support local farmers and they never over-inflate their prices

Their roasted deli slices are so yummy, although a bit on the salty side

Turkey Wrap with Food for Life Brown Rice Tortillas and Light Philly Cream Cheese

Spread on thick, nom nom nom!

After layering on the turkey slices, I added tomatoes,
red onion, black pepper, spinach greens and salsa

And as anyone who has ever tried to fold stuffed wraps knows, it's almost impossible!

So why have I been so busy lately? Well I found paid yoga work as
sub teacher! Finally, after being so discouraged in this previous post

I'm also in the midst of applying for college and looking at alternative
living arrangements. But because theres more to add to all this, I will fill
you all in later in the coming weeks. It feels quite nice to be busy
though, it gives me that extra oomph and drive you need to take life head on :)

Questions: Do you like being busy or prefer
knowing you have no plans? What type of foods
and meals do you choose when you're on the go?

Mmm, those are my favourite wraps (I mean the tortillas themselves, its the only brand I'll eat!) :) I do love being busy but sometimes we all just need chillaxing time :P

I do salads on the go. I know that seems crazy, but the prep is light even if they take a little longer to eat. I am so happy you found a paid yoga gig. I know things are stressful for you right now, but hopefully they will work out soon! Keep your chin up!

I sort of prefer having open days and getting pick and choose maybe one or two things to fill them with. Even if I do have a schedule written out, too many things start to get overwhelming VERY quickly...

Congrats on the job! Can't wait to hear more about your college plans and new living arrangements, once they're set-up!

When I'm on the go I'm all about the lunchbox foods... think apples, bananas, fruit snacks, PB&Js, etc. And I love being on the go! I get so antsy when I'm at home with no plans.

That wrap looks really yummy, although the raw purple onions would be too intense for me! I love them nice and caramelized :) I love taking fruit for on the go snacks, as well as sandwiches...I pretty much stuff a days worth of food in my bookbag every day for school.

And I like having plans all during the day, but plenty of time to relax at night :)

Yay for your teaching job!!!!
I would much rather be busy than have no plans. I'm so much more productive when I'm busy.

Yayyy congrats on the job Kelsey! I knew you'd find something!

I need a good mix of busy and unplanned time. I don't like it if I have too much of either!

That wrap looks so delicious!

I go through spurts of wanting to be busy and wanting to have nothing to do! After the holidays, I am happy to have a few weeks of nothing!!

I like being busy, but there are times when I wish there was nothing going on so I could just sit at home and relax.

Can you make my lunch for me tomorrow?

Yayyyy!!! Congrats on the job! Thats so awesome!!!

I like being busy however I do need my downtime. Finding a good balance is hard but once you do its great!

For on the go foods..... I usually have fruit and veggies. Nuts, cliff bars, dried fruit.....

Hooray! For the yoga gig (but we never doubted for a sec...all good things come to those who wait...and get the grungies out and get back out of bed!) Yay to being busy...to moving on...and yay for cream cheese and turkey. (I'm really wonky right now with meat and dairy but YES I know that is the ultimate combo...and am finally seeing another kindrid spiit. I advice you to try nut butter in your turkey wraps (but skip the cheese...peebee and cheese? Doesnt sound so good.)

One last Hooray for moving on. Your own nest. Think of all the nuts you can gather...and the "nuts" you can leave out! Calm, Kelsey environs....namaste.

Sandwiches are probably my go-to for quick on the go lunches. They are just so versatile, portable, and keep well without refrigeration. You can't go wrong!

Congratulations on the job! It's definitely better to be busy. It doesn't mean you must have plans what you will do when you retire but you just need to do something because otherwise it feels like you're wasting your time.

Foods on the go? I'd rather eat at the canteen but if eating a real meal at a reasonable price is not an option, I ususally pack a sandwich and some kind of fruit.

By the way, if the price of the turkey roast isn't over-inflated, then I don't want to live in Canada :) .

Look at that deliciously thick glob of cream cheese, yum! I love making roll ups with tons of veggies to give crunch. I'm not very good at rolling them up, either - everything always falls out, no matter how careful I am!

Congrats on your teaching position! Looks like good things are coming your way :) I can't wait for the update on how things are going!

As for whether I'd refer being busy or not ... hmmm ... I love the freedom of not being busy, but then I find I get stagnant and somewhat lazy. Busy is probably better :)

Congrats on the yoga position! I prefer to be busy than to have nothing planned. I'm very much an A Type personality so to do lists make me happy! :)

As someone with a history of depression, I thrive on being busy. It's the quiet moments that make me crack!

Congrats on all the exciting things going on in your life!
