Maca... Tastes Like Peanut Butter!

I'm obsessed with this Red Maca Powder from Ethnoscience. At first I was
worried that the powder would taste funny but the crazy thing is, this stuff
tastes like a bitter version of powdered peanut butter!

Maca is wonderful for boosting energy and balancing hormones

Plus gram per gram, it's much cheaper to buy powdered Maca versus capsules

Another successful visit to Value Village meant acquiring more fun books to read,
like A Woman's Guide to Spiritual Renewal, and a dream catcher too! Haha,
I bought the dream catcher quite impulsively; I've always wanted one of my own :)

And lastly, look what I picked up...

It's Green Cuisine's new Gluten-Free Recipe Book! I already have the original one, but
now since i'm gluten-free, I promise to share a few recipes from this new book for you.

And yes, that definitely means more muffins too :)

Question: Do you take herbal supplements?
Which do you prefer: powders, capsules or both?

Well, now you have peaked my interest in trying it! I love powdered peanut butter! I take Oil of Primrose and I love it. It seriously helps with PMS and just makes me feel better taking it.

Hi lovely!
I am getting caught up on your recent posts and loving them. I am happy to hear that you are taking good care of yourself. I am so proud of you for doing what is best for you.
I am a fan of maca, but I've never tried the powder, only the supplements. I guess you are right, it is probably much cheaper to just buy the powder, don't know why that didn't occur to me before. Probably because they sell MacaSure at my local grocery store in the drugstore section but you have to go to the health food store for pure maca, so I just assumed it was more expensive.
PS: I have the original Green Cuisine cookbook too! I haven't tried any of the recipes yet though. Do you have any faves? Can't wait to see what you make from the gluten free one...
xoxo

I bought maca powder for a smoothie I saw that I wanted to try. I need to find other ways to use maca.

I take powders and capsules. I usually like most things as liquids and powders because I believe it is easier to digest, but sometimes for convenience, I have to make do.

When I was little I lived in Whitehorse, Yukon where there is a pretty high Aboriginal population... almost every birthday party I attended had a "make your own dream-catcher" activity, hahaha. I wish I would have known you wanted one... I have too many!

I've never heard of Maca, I don't take any supplements now but I am looking for some good natural organic ones to help with nutrients I might not be getting in! Do you have any good ones you can suggest? or ones you take daily?

Oh I must research this maca. I have been away from the blog world for far too long!! Anything that tastes like PB sounds good in my books ;)

I do take supplements, some in powder and some in pill. I love maca!

I have never heard of this...in either form, but now I'm eager to learn more about it. How very interesting! Hopefully I can track some of this down at the health food store. Thank you for sharing this Maca with me. I hope you had a lovely Monday. I am trying to stay warm in Austin…we finally got a cold snap down here!

I use Amazing Grass (which I believe would be considered a supplement??) in my smoothies. It is a powder.

I love maca! I put it in my smoothies (powder form). Goes sooo well with chocolate :) and I also take milk thistle (capsules).

I rather chew any supplements - I can't swallow a pill to save my life - well i can but it involves gagging - i'm pathetic!

I don't use any kinds of supplements! I tried amazing grass, and, honestly, did not like it at all!!

I've been wanting to try Maca but it's sooo expensive! I'm sure one of these days I'll cave and buy it. ;)

I occasionally buy Amazing Grass, but I don't regularly take any supplements.

I need herbal supplements in my life! ESPECIALLY in the winter. Ack. Love the dream catcher...reminded me of when Jacob gave one to Bella in Twilight :)
