Hug a Fat

Okay, I'll explain the title in a bit...

But first I want to say how happy I am that many of you are stepping up to the plate
and admitting you'll try parting with gluten for a week! Those who are honest about
only being able to manage a couple days, no problem... even one day counts! I am thinking of starting it at the end of May... that will give everyone enough
time to pick up some extras from the store and map out an escape route a plan

I would post recipe ideas, meal plans, food substitutions, etc. Also, no worries
about cost, I promise it will be budget-friendly... no expensive gluten-free products
necessary :) I will let everyone know in a few days the official details
before we start the countdown; I'm really just looking for a head
count right now and then I can post a 'sign up' sheet. It will be fun!

Started off my morning with a Banana before
munching on a marvelous Gluten Free Vegan Muffin

Green Cuisine's Brown Rice Apple Berry Walnut Muffin!
Super moist and suprisingly extra-tasty for some reason :)

For lunch I pulled out this Broccoli beast and summoned him to the Stir-Fry pan!

So many great things in here; Chicken, Broccoli, Swiss
Chard, Red onion, Seasonings and Mustard of course

Later on I grabbed some Olympic Bumbleberry Soyogurt

And a red delicious that was uhhhhhh delicious!

Picked up a quick Brown Rice and Veggie Sushi for Dinner. Well sans
the Soy Sauce... but I love Wasabi and Ginger. Such a Sasabi freak I am :)

Now to explain why my post is called 'Hug a Fat' ...

Okay well a lot of you have probably seen Chocolate Covered Katie's
post on the importance of fats in our diet. To celebrate such a nutrient,
she's asking everyone to grab their favorite 'fat' and take a picture!

SO I DID :)

Two photos in fact (sorry, couldn't choose!)

I love you Raw Hemp Nut Butter

At the end of the month, Katie will feature the photos on her
blog so everyone can see who's fat is the phattest! haha; well
its not actually a contest, I just wanted to make you laugh :)

Question: What's your favorite fat?

I thought you were in my reader but you weren't!! :-( Don't worry I changed that!

Those pics with the hemp butter are too cute. My favorite fat is my parents plump dog ;-) haha.

Actually I love nuts to any kind of nut butter....that got inappropriate eek!

Ahh Kelsey! I am SO dying for one of those vegan muffins. They look incredible! Too bad we don't have a Green Cuisine here, darnit. :(

My favorite fat is probably Coconut Butter/Cream; either that or peanut butter. It's hard to choose. :)

Favorite fat? Ahhh why do you pose such difficult questions! There are so many good ones.

I'm going to say almond butter because it tends to be what I crave the most. But I love avocado, coconut butter, and sunflower seed butter as well.

Oh my gosh, girl, you're so fast! And so awesome!! And so cute :). I might just have to post BOTH! Two times your pretty face is better than one, right?

Danielle (Coffee Run) said... [reply]

A GF challenge sounds awesome! I would do it if it started after my finals :)

My favorite fat = coconut (& nut butter)!

You are TOO CUTE! I need to post a photo with one of my favorite fat's but wow, it will be hard to choose. I love almond butter, coconut oil, avocado...ah!

Megan D said... [reply]

I would try gluten free for a day! My fave fat is almond butter OR avocado. I can't choose!

Lauren said... [reply]

You are so gorgeous! Love those pictures.
My favourite fat is coconut butter or coconut oil, probably. But I also love so many others, so it makes me sad to have to choose. But seriously, I can't enough of coconut in any form. I do love hemp too- not the protein powder so much, but the seeds. Never tried the butter.
Also, thanks for the tips on making my blog prettier. One day when I actually have time to do something more than a post (and continue commenting on all my favourite bloggies) I will slave over it and make some improvements. Or maybe I'll just hire you to do it for me? I kid i kid...xoxo <3

Hey gorgeous!! Am loving the fat-hugging. That jar of hemp seed butter's almost as photogenic as you are! Almost. Hehe. My favourite fat definitely comes in the form of nut butter lovin'.

Peanut butter makes me go weak at the knees. Almond butter gets me high. I started Pecan nut butter, thought I didn't like it but now, I think I'll miss it too much once the tiddly bit I have left goes into my tummy. Lol.

I love avocados too - sprinkle of salt and pepper, a squeeze of lemon and it's pure yum! They're expensive here though so we don't have them at home too often.

Hope your day's as beautiful as you are!

Much love,
Nat xoxo

I've never tried hemp butter! I'm sure a trip to the whole foods nut butter section is in order- it's just a matter of getting the nerve to go and not go crazy in the aisles!!!!

My favorite fat is either almond butter or avocado... both a regular staple in my diet!

Lauren @ Health on the Run said... [reply]

Does ice cream count?? ;)

My favorite healthy fat is definitely nut butter....any type really. I currently have three different kinds (open) in the pantry right now.

I'm a wasabi freak too!! I can't get enough. I also love the GINGER. Yum.

I have never tried hemp butter, but I've heard it's pretty good (although others tell me they hate it). My favorite fat is my Smart Balance peanut butter!! I can't get enough of that stuff, it's crazy addicting.

Heather (Where's the Beach) said... [reply]

I totally agree on adding in healthy fats into our diets. Mine would be nut butters. Those muffins look so good btw. I'm not normally one to even take a second look at muffins.

I can't just pick one fat! I love avocados, olives, olive oil, nut butter, salmon, nuts...too many.

How pretty are you Kelsey? Seriously, you just have the most gorgeous skin.

My favorite fat would have to be butter which I recently reintroduced in my life.

PS - Pakoras aren't the same as kabobs...the pakoras have a batter and are deep fried. They taste heavenly!!

Beth @ Beth's Journey to Thin said... [reply]

ha you took a bite out of your banana before snapping a picture, too!

Almond butter is definitely my fat of choice!

Krista said... [reply]

To be quite honest, fat scares me! I'm really trying to overcome that and recently started enjoying coconut butter. And I've always loved almond butter....

Can't wait for the gluten free posts to start up. I've really be thinking about giving this a go for the whole week. I have a feeling my IBS ridden belly will like it...

Anonymous said... [reply]

I'd LIKE to try the GF week... but that would so not happen.

Honestly, I'm not much of a fan of fats... but I guess I'd say almond or peanut butter!

<3 <3

I'm a sucker for cashew butter- I don't buy it often, mainly because I will destroy the whole jar..

I'm excited for this gluten free week- I'll jump on board as well- and Just so you know- Charelli's is having a gluten free cooking class on May 15th- I'm thinking about checking it out with my sister in law.. our gluten free baking is gross- we need the help!

My favorite fat is without a doubt peanut butter. Whole Foods 365 Crunchy to be exact :)

I'm majorly looking forward to the gluten-free challenge! I'm going to finish up the last of my wraps and then buy gluten-free ones the next time I'm in the store. I have a question though: what about oats?

My favorite kind of fat is coconut. :)

runnerforever said... [reply]

I am totally up for going gluten free for a day or two!

Elina said... [reply]

My favorite fat is almond butter, Barney Butter to be specific. :)
My second favorite would be avocado. I wonder if I could combine the 2 one day. Maybe a savory almond butter though. Hmm, now the wheels are turning in my head. lol
