Cereal Cornucopia

If you're wondering what I did with all those samples....

Then look no further! Being indecisive has its upside...
yesterday I mixed soups and today I mixed cereals...

Nature's Path Crunchy Vanilla Sunrise and Crunchy Maple Sunrise Cereals

NoNuttin' Granola Clusters and Trail Mix

NoNuttin' Apple Cinnamon, Chocolate Chip, and Double Chocolate Chunk Granola Bars

Planet-Love Organic Coconut Nib Crisp Raw Chocolate Bar

Planet-Love "The Crispy Bar"

Added a sliced banana and some almond milk before eating

Question: What food combinations do you love?

When I just eat cereal, I always have to mix at least two or three! It's always sooooo good! My fav would be kashi go lean almond flax and special k vanilla almond... yum!

great idea hehe, i specially loved the part were you broke into the chocolate bar hehe

That looks like a darn good bowl of cereal. Lately I've been loving mixing almond butter with applesauce, or almond butter with a mashed up banana. Cream cheese with jam is a definite favorite, and yogurt is good with pretty much anything and everything.

Perfect way to use up those samples!
I love sweet + savory combinations, so I usually try to add some fruits to my savory dishes, or stuff like that.

Anonymous said... [reply]

That is an absolutely fantastic bowl of fun! I will have to try that (and it would be perfect when you have just a little bit left of several cereals or something!)

Your samples all look awesome! The health fair looks like it was a lot of fun, I think you got more samples than I did at the Vancouver wellness show!

Ohhh my yummy GF cereals, soooo loving your stash! I like mixing 2 cereals, I get bored with just one! :) I can't pick a fav cereal combo...(miss indecisive over here too!) I do love the Maple Mesa Sunrise, I haven't tried the Vanilla...which did you like better?
I hope you continue to have a great week beautiful chica!
xoxo!

i am so freakin JEALOUS of all the samples you got!! and that bread at the sydney health fair? and the cookies? send me soooome? lol. jk (kinda :p) but it looks so good. and sounds so good especially when you say it didn't even taste gluten free. THAT'S when you know it's good stuff ;)
your cereal and yogourt mixes look amazing. i love mixing all my different cereals (if i have different cereals lol) and then mixing in fruit, vegan protein powder, cinnamon (natch ;) ), and usually some stevia too :) ooh and i've been doing lots of plain 2% yogourt, and canteloupe with liberal cinnamon on top. mmm :)
lots of love you :)

Anonymous said... [reply]

p.s. SO happy that greek yogourt is growing on you. it is amazing, is it not??
have you tried liberte mediteranean lemon yogourt? that one is my all time favourite. don't let the 8% MF scare you. it's worth it, all round :)

Pieces of chocolate in cereal is such an amazing idea!!!
For combinations, hmmm...at the moment I like almond butter sandwiched between dried apricots (: xxxxx

I love big concoctions of random stuff like that. I love oats or another grain like quinoa or buckwheat mixed with banana, berries, raw granola, and nut butter. That is one of my favourite combos ever! The cereal mix looks really good to me though. My sister eats a lot of mixtures like that, she's really big on cereal from a box and dark chocolate. (Who doesn't like dark chocolate? crazy people...) <3

I love mixing foods together, especially when cereal's involved. One of my favorite snacks includes Greek yogurt (usually plain), cereal, fruit, and a blob of nut butter, plus some honey or maple syrup. It's deliciousness in a bowl.

That bowl of cereal and chocolate looks amazing! I always have to mix cereals :) Favorite combo of mine is fresh strawberries and Justin's chocolate hazelnut butter...it's so good on pancakes, oatmeal, or ice cream (which I had last nigth!) :D

YUM! what an amazing combo of all delicious things! I love mixing different cereals...but this definitely tops that!

Heather (Where's the Beach) said... [reply]

I like to mix cereal too. Like Kashi shredded wheat (or whatever it's actually called) with another Kashi cereal that might be more granola like. But not much beats the flavor combo of banana and peanut butter.

My fav combinations? PB with ANYTHING! Yoghurt, oatmeal, toast, noodles, wraps, mixed with tzatziki, chocolate... It's the best! x)

i have added carob chips to cereal before and it is so so good, must do that again! ... i think my favorite combos of foods, are well for cereal i love the combo of cereal, i like flakey cereal (spelt flakes are my fav) + carob chips + sliced almonds + raisins + milk so good and warmed up is so good too! and of course the combo of banana + PB is always the best, although i prefer cashew butter + banana or dates + hazelnut butter, ah now that is heavenly :)

Goodness Gracious!!! What a cereal! :) It looks like chocolate-covered banana to me! I love making up new recipes for cereal. I usually do it with oatmeal, though. Today I had strawberries and cream oatmeal!

Christina said... [reply]

that's quite an amazing concoction!

That looks awesome. I love using crushed up bars instead of cereal for yogurt bowls- I had one recently that was banana, greek yogurt and a chocolate caramel kashi bar. A.ma.z.i.n.g.

My stomach is now growlingggg

My favorite combination is Peanut butter and chocolate. Nothing beats it. Nothing.

Krista said... [reply]

What a great idea to mix everything together! HA! BTW, I LOVE Nature's Path products. They're a fave at my place. How was the chocolate?

Megan D said... [reply]

Oh my goodness, this post got me all excited! I LOVE mixing cereals!! The other day I mixed honey bunches of oats with kashi vanilla island. It pretty much turned into a cereal binge soo I probs won't be doing that again!

Lauren @ Health on the Run said... [reply]

That mixture looks amazing!!! I am also a huge cereal mixture. I mix a minimum of 3 together ever time I have a bowl. I also love mixing things into my oatmeal -- I love it when things have different textures and flavors.

Lindsay @ http://pancakesnpajamas.blogspot.com/ said... [reply]

That is the most exciting breakfast I've seen in a while. How fun to not know what you 'd get in a bite!

I want to play "Guess what flavor this is" with my taste buds! Sounds like such a fun game. I bet I'd win.

Good call on mixing all the cereals...if one is delicious then more can only equal more deliciousness, right?
