She's Muffin But Trouble

There's a Full Moon tomorrow...

I'm definitely feeling the tension of it. I'm sure a lot of
you other Highly Sensitive People are experiencing the effects of stress, busy schedules, errands and fatigue. Blogging gives me a nice break and some needed downtime.

I've been sitting here with my Earl Grey Tea reading through your posts. I feel grateful to learn more about all of you through your blogs; to see into each of your worlds and perspectives :)

For this, I dedicate my morning muffin to all of you, my friends...

I love how the strawberry ontop is heart-shaped!

I can't remember the last time I made a big stir-fry for lunch!
Although it's typically "Meatless Monday" I had to break the rules...

I get a little Savage-esque if I don't get my protein...

Bison stir-fry with pinto beans, broccoli, celery, spinach,
swiss chard, red onion, spices and mustard.

Later in the day I got lazy and snacked on fresh local cherries. By dinner I wasn't in a cooking mood so I threw together a quick turkey and tomato sandwich.

Buttered bread with organic turkey slices, tomato, and sprouts.

Oh and just to update, the wheat trial is far exceeding my wildest expectations. I'm feeling really good and remain symptom-free.
I also don't crave sugar like I used to!!!

I wish I could say i'm going to spend tonight relaxing and sit here finishing
my tea but I have a stale green bedroom that needs painting,
and a bucket of lavender paint that needs to be put to use.

Question: What secret talent have
you recently discovered you have?

I'm glad the wheat testing is going well! When is it that you get to do use the actual test to see if you're have an intolerance or not?

I agree with you- I love getting the variety of perspectives we all have on our blogs... it keeps me entertained every day!

And I'm loving the bison dish- the amount of broccoli makes me want to drool... ;)

No wonder my moods are wack today, it's that full moon. :) I am loving stir-fries lately. They are so easy and delicious.

One of these days I will break down and get a muffin. Your posts with them are starting to take over my cravings, haha.

wooow I wish I could get muffins like that here!!!! I guess my random secret talent would be coffee maker!! Hard task, I know, but it's what I do almost every morning because I'm the first one awake!

That strawberry chocolate chip muffin looks fantastic <3

I recently discovered that I am a very talented blog reader. I could do this all day long! I love reading and commenting but unfortunately work and life get in the way. :)

Seriously though...reading your blog always puts me in the most mellow mood. Your calmness rubs off on me a million miles away, so thank you for that!

Aimee said... [reply]

Aw post pictures of the lavendar walls when you're done palease.

Natalie said... [reply]

Your breakfast muffins look gorgeous! - Almost as gorgeous as you but not quite. Hehe.

I'm not so sure about any secret talents of mine. Maybe it's because they're... secret. =x

Much love,
Nat xoxo

Btw... I've started blogging again but have shifted to http://morsels-of-life.blogspot.com. x)

Natalie @ cinnamonbums said... [reply]

hmm secret talents... not too sure about this one. if withstanding very high temperatures (and enjoying them while everyone else is miserable) is a secret talent , then that is probably mine!!!

i am pretty jealous of your muffins... i love the shape of them, and i wish places around here sold brown rice muffins!

Monet said... [reply]

I don't know about secret talents either...sorry to be boring! I always get a bit freaked out during full moon time...so tomorrow should be interesting! And I also loved that heart-shaped strawberry on top!

Anonymous said... [reply]

in Ashtanga yoga, we are not supposed to practice on full moon or new moon (we call them "moon days"). the theory is that, like the tides, our body (made up of mostly water) is governed by the moon's physical presence. on full or new moons, our bodies are the least stable, and our emotions are like roller coasters. practicing on those days can easily lead to injuries. so moondays are days of rest.

haha that's probably more than you want to hear. sorry i tend to ramble...maybe i should do a post on this ;)

Ooh painting is so therapeutic! I love your colourful muffin - it is visually beautiful :-)

How weird is it that I have exactly the same coloured room to paint!
I think my mum almost crashed the car yesterday because she was memorised by the beauty of the moon, definitely does funny things.
I realised yesterday I have a hidden talent for peeling tomatoes! Thank you for reminding me.
Hope the full moon hasn't driven you insane

I am definitely feeling the effects of the moon! I hate painting, but I love how it looks in the end when it is all freshly done! I hope it went well! Your eats always look so good.

Your muffin looks TO DIE FOR. Its quirky shape makes it even more adorable...if you call yum-muffins adorable!

Bison's one meat I've never had before (not that I'm a meat gourmet or anything!)...sounds interesting:)

Joanne said... [reply]

A lavender room sounds so pretty! Want to come to NYC to paint my walls??

I'm so glad that your wheat trial is going well!

I always forget about sprouts. Isn't it silly when you like something but never think to buy and use at home? And strawberry muffins - hello! Yum. I sure hope the full moon is what is going on my way so that means I know I'll be back to normal (whatever that is) soon! Happy Tuesday to you

Monique said... [reply]

no secret talents here! although if i could choose one, it would be to somehow draw that muffin through my computer screen and devour it in one breath.

Anonymous said... [reply]

I don't know about a secret talent, but I made a pretty good batch of granola on Sunday. (My best yet!)

Love your muffins, as always. I'm probably glad to be away from good natural foods stores for baked goods, or I'd be spending all my money.

Beth @ Beth's Journey to Thin said... [reply]

It really is heart shaped on top of that muffin! So cute!

Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter said... [reply]

I discovered last night that I can make amazing lilies out of frosting! They are so cool.

Anonymous said... [reply]

Awww you're so sweet!! Love the heart shaped strawberry on top of the muffin!!! Blogging makes me happy too!!!

I'm so glad that you're feeling great with the wheat trial!!!!! Yay for both of us feeling good!!!!!!!!!!!

You must must show us the paint job you did when its finished! I dont have a talent for painting walls but I do have a talent for making perfect bites... you know, putting the perfect amount/combo of foods on my fork. Its really an art form. I'm good at it, my meals are always amazing ;)

Kayla said... [reply]

That muffin is HUGE and looks so yummy and moist! Good luck painting your room!

Anonymous said... [reply]

That muffin looks delicious! And I love the heart strawberry too -- so cute.

Secret talent: I can make choc chip cookies disappear faster than anyone else :)

Anonymous said... [reply]

I have to strip the caulking around my bathtub. Yuk. I'd rather be eating that muffin!

I make a killer silly face! Just ask my son...if he could talk, he'd tell you!

Anonymous said... [reply]

Hmmm... Thanks for the lovely looking muffin!! :) Brown rice flour is a great idea!! I haven't baked for a looong time cos I was trying to stay away from wheat flour. Your muffin gives me a good idea! A lavender-painted room sounds gorgeous. You MUST put up a pic of your room when you're done with it!!! :) Be careful not to breathe in the toxic fumes!!! Um, my secret talent is making food disappear from the pantry so fast you don't even have time to say "hey presto". I'm sneaky that way. hehe.

Kacy said... [reply]

Haha, I LOVE that cartoon. May workdays in a nutshell, furreal.

That turkey sandwich looks delish!

Chelsea said... [reply]

Your stir fries always look so good! And I know what you mean about protein. My appetite turns into a ravishing beast if I don't get enough in a day!

I hope you post a picture of your room when it's done! Lavender is such a pretty choice for a wall colour.

I'm so glad to hear that the wheat trial continues to go well! There are so many tasty wheat-containing delights!

That muffin looks scrumptious. Do you think they intentionally stuck an extra strawberry on top for the heart-shaped effect? I like to think so!

I hope the room painting went well! xoxo

I'm not a huge meat eater, but I do enjoy bison. It makes a great chilli in the winter...

I'm still looking for my talent. It's been in hiding for 36yrs. ;)

Love lavender! Much nicer than green. And I'm glad to hear that you are symptom free while eating gluten! WOOT!!
