Focaccia Famine

Today is officially the 'Start of the School Year' here.

My Yoga Training doesn't start until next
Tuesday, so I have one more week of Summer.

Nice, except i'm all alone while everyone else is at work or school...

I thought I would share with you my favorite thing I ate this weekend...

Planet Organic makes a massive Focaccia Panini Sandwich!

BBQ Chicken with hummus, mozzarella and spinach on focaccia bread.

Although I planned to save some for later, I ended up eating the whole thing :)

It pays to try new things.

Since the whole day is mine to enjoy, i'm going to catch up on all your blogs.

Call me weird, but I would rather read your posts and indulge
in our codependent relationship, than spend the day outside...

...plus it's raining too

Question: Are you back at
School or Work? How's it going?

I like days like that too sometimes, even when the weather is just beautiful. It's good to go with what you want to do, as long as there's variety to the days.

I'm on an extended vacation too, awaiting a trip to Florida with my sister, and have been busy on the job search.

I'm back at work and JEALOUS of you. :) It was a rude awakening when my alarm went off this morning. Thank God for snooze! :)

It's raining here today too. Ick. I love a good foccacia, yummy. Hope you enjoy your free day to yourself!

I like your nails polished because you always use pretty shades :) And your food porn posts...Do I have to say it again? Ok. I love them!

Mel said... [reply]

Oh my, the sammie looks divine! I don´t think I´ve ever had foccacia bread - must change this soon ;)
Fortunately I´m having one more month left until uni starts. I´m working as a designer from my "home office" aka Macbook &i Mac a lot, so it´s not really that stressful ATM ;)

Hope, you´re enjoying your day sweetheart!! xoxo Mel

Chelsea said... [reply]

Hehe whenever I plan on only eating half of something, I always end up eating the whole thing too. ;) But that sammie looks way too delicious to save half for later!

School doesn't start until next Monday for me, so I still have another week of freedom too. Woohoo!

I'm super jealous of that panini! Looks super awesome! Enjoy yourself while you have time on your hands. I'm sure you're going to be super busy once you start on your yoga training course - which I bet is going to be great! xoxo

LOL, I love your comic! I am not "back to" work or school, been working, and hopefully work gets busier!

I also love your random fact about Sound of Music very cool!

Oh good grief that sandwich looks amazing! I love bread! We are working today, but that is at home so it is ok. I love our codependent relationship! Glad you are entertained today! Have a good one Kelsey!

Healthy. Happy. Well. said... [reply]

LOVE focaccia. So good. I picked up a jalapeno one at the farmer's market this weekend. I would rather spend a day reading blogs as well. Most people would think that's weird but I think its A ok. I start school today... lovely. Enjoy another week of blogs and good eats!

Tori said... [reply]

Wow! I wouldn't have been able to eat only half either! That looks freakin delicious! I'm such a bread addict though :)

I'm not going to school this semester, which is a downer, but I am working as usual, which is also a downer!

I think the internet monster just ate my comment . . . but anyway, I'm just working as usual though my husband is starting Year #2 of his PhD in another week and a half.
That sandwich is calling my name--any way you could express it to my office? =)

I'm actually just about to officially finish my final year of school (although I haven't been doing ANY school work since July...) Australia is weird. We finish school, but then have to go back to do our exams in october - I don't really understand, but hey! vacation time :P

Your sandwich sounds and looks delicious. I am back in school after a few weeks off (online classes) and of course it sucks!

Nicole, RD said... [reply]

The only break I got from work this summer was when I moved 800 miles - yuck! Not a fun break!

I HATED focaccia until recently. Now...it's a trigger food! YUM! And that sammie looks delicious! If I weren't having a blast with my hubby yesterday, I would've totally crawled into bed with my lap top and caught up on blogs! :)

Anonymous said... [reply]

Neither school nor job for me.. I just ended mine and moved back home! I'll admit, it's actually a little boring :P I had this urge to just get out and do something today to break free and I ended up raking all the grass on my lawn and wheel barrowing it away! Haha... I guess that's something productive?

Oh my gosh!!! I am so jealous of all your Planet Organic swag! That sammy looks so good :)

Mary @ Bites and Bliss said... [reply]

Dannnggg that's a big panini!! I bet you enjoyed every bite. :)

I'm back at school..but then again, I never left. I spent the entire Summer at school so the start of Fall semester's actually a good thing in my eyes! All that's different is that it's closer to Falll!! :D

Anonymous said... [reply]

That panini is HUGE! But it sure looks good :)

I'm going back to school *sigh*. But, fortunatley I'm no longer a freshman!!

Lisa (bakebikeblog) said... [reply]

oooh I love the sprinkle of herbs on that focaccia!

Anonymous said... [reply]

I'm back at school! I love it but I've got a lot of work. I'm taking a lot of classes (more than usual), and even the ones I thought I wouldn't have to do written work.. well I'm writing lol. Oh well, it's all interesting. I love being stimulated and around other intelligent people. It's a nice pace of life actually :)

By the way... I LOVE focaccia bread. I think it may be my favorite kind of bread... next to the German broetchen :) But once I made some homemade focaccia and it blew my mind + with some thick homemade vegan tomato bisque yumyumyum! you should look it up on my blog :)

XOXO

Anonymous said... [reply]

I'm weird like that-it can be a beautiful all day but I just want to sttay inside but then when it's gross out, I want to go enjoy the day. I don't fight it :)

Lucky girl, school starting so late for you and all. Work is work. Meh.

I heart Planet Organic! I was just there today!

You are going to have so much fun next week!

Girl, I work and run my own businesses from home, so I never had time off :) But I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I saw all the little kiddos walking to school today....remember those days?!

That sandwich is gigantic! I love foccacia bread.

Last year I was a teacher, but decided not to go back this year. Not going back to school with everyone was a little hard, but I'm loving what I'm doing now, so it's all good.

Is your yoga training all week long? Mine is this weekend all day Saturday and Sunday. I'm excited. Can't wait to hear about your experience!

Averie @ Averie Cooks said... [reply]

You always make me chuckle :)

I'm back at school but by at school I mean on rotation. So I'm in the emergency department of our local hospital and loving it!

Thanks for your kind words about my IBS and advice. I'm going to try everything I possibly can :) xxx

sophia said... [reply]

Are you like me? Do you think a simple (or not) sandwich, esp grilled, is the PERFECT meal on earth? Ooh yes.

I'm back in school. It's freaking busy, but fun. :-)

Susan said... [reply]

I am a slut for good bread. And that looks off the chain!

I'm not in school or working right now. Dealing with some medical stuff. It feels like work though, ha!

alex said... [reply]

I'm not in school and never got a break from work :( sad day. lol!

Simply Life said... [reply]

that panini looks great! Sadly, with my work I don't get a summer vacation so I've always been "back" at work :)

Justine said... [reply]

No school for me- I have an 8-5 job. The only downside is not being able to enjoy some of the prettiest parts of the day, but that's really the only thing to complain about. Plus I get to work with family, which is always nice. :)

I can't wait to hear about your yoga training! One of my friends is also my yoga instructor and she loves it so much. I hope you do as well!

Krista said... [reply]

That sandwich looks mouth watering! Foccacia makes a mean pizza crust, too...

Kids are back to school, I had no break from work. Boo!! ;)

I am headed back to university next week.
