Yoga Mats for Yoga Rats

Just like a pair of running shoes, there comes a time when
your yoga mat gets overused and it's time to buy a new one.

Winners had a big sale on fitness and yoga accessories, so I took advantage of it!

1/4" Studio Grade Yoga Mat from PurAthletics

I think $16.99 is a great price for a yoga mat!

Plus it meant I had some money left over to pick up a yoga block too :)

$5.99 Yoga Block from YogaRat

Question: Do you have a favorite brand
when it comes to yoga mats and accessories?

Fun! I don't do yoga regularly enough to have a mat of any sort, but these look nice! :)

I don't know the brand, but I bought mine at TJ Maxx and I love it :)

My sweet girl...I need to start practicing again. I so wish I had worn out my last yoga mat. I need to find a class ASAP!

I have a Gaiam mat that I love, and another mat that I'm not sure of the brand but it was thick and I got it on sale, so I'm not complaining! I like the slightly thicker mats to help cushion my knees. And my yoga block is my BFF for some poses!

I have a blue Gaiam mat that I really like, and it's super cute :) That's an awesome price for a mat! I wanna try yogitoes but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I have a lululemon yoga mat that I am quite happy with. It's light purple and blue, and because it's so cute, I make sure to use it!

I have never used a yoga block. I am curious...what is it for?

I'm not loyal to any brand but my absolute favorite mat I've ever used is from Zenergy. I actually think I bought it at TJMaxx..but it even trumps the one giving to me at training.

Those aren't bad prices at all! Score!

I love Winners for all of its awesome deals! Have you ever checked out the kitchen section there? They usually have some amazing deals on things like agave nectar and chia seeds!

I got my yoga mat when I went to Target in the states and it was also on sale! I'm sure there are better yoga mats out there that cause less slippage, in fact I know there are....but they are SO expensive and it just feels like such a waste to me. I just can't afford it. Oh well...I'll just have to deal with a bit of slipping for now. Do you find that you have that problem with the cheaper mats?
PS: I was thinking, we should totally come up with a homemade version of Francine bars. I am not as good at experimenting with recipes as you are (actually I suck at it) so I thought I would throw the idea out there in case you are feeling adventurous one day. But I might try it myself- quinoa and millet flour, date paste, cocoa powder, raw honey, and a few other ingredients? Maybe it could work? We'll see if I'm brave enough to make the attempt...
xoxoxo

I have a hard time getting rid of the oldies...it's like...so many memories. I keep em...thinking they're good for the outdoor times...cause I never wanted to take my "good" mat outdoors...
Ahhh...I need more yoga.

I haven't done yoga since before I got pregnant! I have been feeling inspired lately, though, and my body is craving some exercise. Your post just confirms it...I need to start moving! (It's so easy to push fitness aside with a toddler around!!)

I think it would benefit my mind, too. It's been a bit out of whack lately.
(Oh, and by the way, I finally have a canada-friendly giveaway up on my blog!!)

$16.99 is an amazing price for a yoga mat - I usually get mine for a similar price at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I go through them quickly so I don't want to spend a ton.

Love the title of this post!

LOL - whatever is the cheapest is my favorite "brand" ;). I'm basic and don't do it often now anyways. But I remember when I did my course that everyone was out in the little shop buying so many things from eye pillows to foot-ball-"rubbie" tihngs (that were like $60!!) and books, etc. Nice to have - but the prices out of this world!

BUT to each his own wonderfulness :)
