Protein Pudding and Salmon Sandwiches

A while back I needed creative concepts for Canned Pumpkin Puree and asked
for your suggestions, and like usual, you all delivered! The first idea that caught

Her version is similar to my Chocolate Protein Pudding except
with Pumpkin Puree instead of Yogurt and more Cocoa, YUM!

You can eat it plain or take it to go, like I did, with sliced fruit and banana for dipping :)

Remember when I always bought those Salmon Salad Wraps from Planet Organic?

I mentioned that I was cutting back because of the cost, but that
was until I saw they made Sandwiches for a fraction of the price...

It's good to have them back in my life, and my belly!

Nom Nom Nom

Questions: What food products do you feel are too pricey?
Do you buy them anyways or look for cheaper alternatives?

Gluten free breads are way over priced! I make them myself. The sandwich looks delicious!

There are a few things I won't compromise on - good cereal and the right salad dressing. Otherwise I'm often a cheapskate if I can get away with it :-)
That sandwich looks AMAZING!

If something is too expensive I'll try to make it on my own or I'll just do my best to live without it. I can't think of any examples -- only because I eat lots of the same things and nothing is incredibly pricey.

That salmon salad sandwich looks super good!

I've just immediately fallen in love with your pumpkin and choc protein pudding! :D

Yay for having your favorite sandwiched back in your life! Enjoy! ;)

I think many ready prepared meals are far too pricy, especially sushi. I'd love if sushi wasn't that expensive! I would have it every day!

yay for cheaper delicious sandwiches :)

i always find that frozen pizzas are wayyy overpriced!! i still buy them cause i like to have them when im really busy, but still... $10 for a frozen pizza... really?

I never buy Amy's frozen meals because it seems ridiculous to pay $7-8 for just one! But I'm curious to try them, so I always watch out for them to go on sale. :P

I had a salmon wrap like that one time at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and was so pleased that it wasn't loaded with mayo like they usually make them. Looks delicious!

I usually end up buying them anyway which is why I am broke....I like to look into making things myself...like hummus and currently vegannaise. I also like to go to asian, korean and mideastern marts because they are SO much cheaper.
I get all my seaweeds at the korean mark for 1/2 the price at wholefoods.

SOmetimes nuts can be so darn expensive, so I always buy them in bulk. Also, I LOVE cacao nibs, but they are expensive, too. They are a special treat and I only allow myself to use a little at a time so the bag lasts longer.

I'm a total bargain shopper, especially wehn it comes to food! There are so many things that are so expensive - the worst one for me is Greek Yogurt because I eat it every day and its one of my main sources of protein. I always use coupons though, which helps!

Love the pumpkin chocolate pudding! I think almond milk is way too expensive but I'm too lazy to make it haha :)

I'm going to make myself a pitta with salmon and goats cheese right now. Your sandwich has inspired me! I bought some smoked salmon today which is ridiculously expensive. I also love fresh king prawns but rarely eat them because I don't really have the monies :-) But every now and then it's good to treat ourselves!

I want protein pudding now...it looks oh so dreamy.

I always find a way to justify buying a pricey ingredient because it's "for the blog". I also feel like I end up eating out less because I have fun ingredients to play with at home. So it all evens out...

And then there's the ultimate excuse that if you spend more money on health food and organic ingredients, you will spend less on medical bills in the long run. ;)

Nuts are probably my most expensive purchase, but we don't buy eggs or cheese, so we figure we spend on nuts what the average foodie spends on fancy cheese.
