Hot Cold Hot Cold!

The weather this Spring in Calgary has left me scratching my head...

The gorgeous view from the patio

One day it's 18 Celsius and sunny, then the next day it's this...snow!

And tomorrow? Sunshine...

The only option I have is to adapt, which means I need to
turn on the oven and start cooking some warm comfort foods

Baked sweet potato/yam with an egg and vegetable scramble

The scramble consists of 1 whole egg, 3 egg
whites, broccoli florets, kale, leek and red onion

I seasoned the eggs with garlic powder, cayenne, salt and pepper..

And sprinkled cinnamon on top of the roasted sweet potato

Questions: Do you adapt to sudden weather
changes by switching up what you usually eat? What
are some of your favorite comfort meals on a cold day?

Crazy crazy crazy weather!!!!

I do adapt my diet to temperature changes. Usually it's more hot soups and cooked dishes when it's cold outside, and more salads when it's warm.

Wow. I thought the weather here in Ontario was messed up lately!

I don't normally adapt to weather changes. I eat what I feel like when I feel like it :P Although during the colder seasons I crave soups and stews, and warmer seasons I like barbecue type foods. Hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled/roasted vegetables. Mmm.

I had a question. I notice that you eat a fair bit of eggs, and I was wondering what your opinion is on organic eggs. I read somewhere that organic animal products aren't better for you because the farmers won't treat animals who are ill (like with antibiotics) meaning you could be eating meat/dairy/eggs from sick animals. I think I read this from an American organization, so not sure if things are different here in Canada. I know that free-range eggs (from grocery stores) are worse than regular eggs.. but organic? If you have any info on the matter, I would greatly appreciate it! (I am a pescetarian, so it's mostly eggs/dairy that I consume). Thanks!

My appetite goes to crazy extremes with weather changes ... either I am ravenous, or I don't want to eat at all.
