Carnivorous Cravings

Apologies for viewing a Chicken Carcass... unless thats your 'thing' of course ;)

I made a delicious little snack midday after the Protein-Hunger-Monster hit!

Claussen; The World's Best Pickles... 'nuff said :)

Made a simple dressing with mustardbalsamic
vinegarlemon juice, cayenne pepper and black pepper

Topped it with leftover Tortilla from my Wild Salmon Salad Wrap

The veggies were fresh organic lettuce, steamed kale and red onion

Mix, Mix, Munch, Munch :)

Last night I went for a drive to look at Christmas lights. I decided to head
up to Mt. Tolmie to look at the city at night... it was breathtakingly beautiful...

Questions: Have you drove around looking at Christmas
lights lately? Do you like to look at your city at night?

Oh noo! I always toss my leftover tortilla from wraps and burritos -- what a great idea to save it and use it in other meals and on salads!

Such a smarty pants -- thanks for the idea! =)

First of all, Claussen pickles really are THE BEST pickles! Second, your salad dressing looks delicious! I am going to have to try and make that myself.

Chris and I already made plans to walk around his parents' neighborhood on Christmas Eve to look at the Christmas lights. It is a tradition that I loved doing with my dad when I was younger.

I soooo wish we had a view like that in Chicago. I guess I could go up to one of the buildings to oversee the lights but no mountains. Sooo jealous! Pickles.. I so often forget about them in different recipes but love them!

We used to go looking at lights quite a bit but have found the past few years that there's not as many people setting up displays. I guess the cost of hydro is scaring people off!

I used to go looking at lights when I was little, but haven't for a while. I'm sure when kiddos come along, I'll do it again!

We have a street right next to ours that is FAMOUS for its Christmas light display. Thus our neighborhood is swamped every evening in December with people driving/walking through. I love just being able to step out my door and walk a few feet! Your protein snack looked delicious. I just munched on some leftover chicken breast and it was so satisfying! Thank you for sharing with me, my dear. I hope your week is full of joy, feasting and family.

My town has the prettiest lights in the park. Companies make float-type things and put them up every year and at night it's magical. I haven't walked through it though, because it's so stinkin cold out!

That salad looks awesome! I love me a chicken carcass every now and then :P

Great salad! I agree- those are the BEST pickles- nothing like them. I pretty much have a jar on hand at all times. Gorgeous views. We haven't driven around/looked at Christmas lights but we totally should- great idea

In Richmond, VA They have a "tacky christmas lights tour" and you can drive around and see all these ridiculous houses! I haven't done it yet, but I've heard it's pretty funny!

The Christmas lights are so beautiful!

I like my city at night. I just posted lots of photos from the Christmas market in Heidelberg I took last night. :)

I have so been enjoying driving around looking at lights! I love your photos- I've been taking new ways home on evening errands to see what lights I discover!

First - do you eat meat? For some reason, I didn't think you did? I DO. :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your header!

I adore the header and any type of merriment is so breathtaking to me. I wish it could last all year long!

As for the driving - I WANT to go see Christmas lights - but the traffic around here is so bad I wouldn't know where to go - safely. But gosh, that sounds like something I should just do...yeah, I should just go and turn on some beautiful Christmas music and warm up the car nice and toasty and just drive around...

Thank you Little Miss Squirrel :)

That view is so pretty! My sister and I actually went driving tonight to look at Christmas lights. There's a famous house in our town that puts on a huge Christmas lights/decorations display every year! :D

I haven't gone out looking at Christmas lights in years, that's for sure. It is a fun activity though. Perhaps if I had a significant other to do things like that with I would ;)

Usually I do not think salads look that appealing on any blog, but man does that salad look good. Do you want to ship it overnight to my house so I can take it for lunch tomorrow? lol.

It is tradition for my family to drive around and look at x-mas lights every year. Last night we actually drove to a man's house that lives about 5 minutes away from us. He is on the news every year for how crazy decked out his house is. It was amazing! He has been doing that for 30 years! Christmas lights instantly put me in a good mood. Looking at them is probably the best part of the holidays :)

I like the pickle idea! And I have not yet driven around looking for lights. It's a great idea though, I haven't done it since childhood:)

btw, I really do love the haircut. I know it's been a few months since you cut it, but it's such a classic look on you!

What a beautiful view! My husband and I went looking for Christmas lights on Saturday night and didn't find many homes in our town decorated. That is kind of sad :(

The hubby and I love to drive around and see the pretty houses all lit up. Also, I totally agree with you about those being the best pickles!

That looks so yummy! I never thought to put a wrap in my salad, but that's a great idea.
