Alive Magazine is a free local magazine chock-full of healthy recipes, consumer reports, headlines, product reviews, advice and lifestyle tips. "Canada's Natural Health and Wellness Magazine" ... We're pretty lucky that we don't have to pay a penny for it!
The reason i'm showing you the January Issue is because
there was a product review inside for SaviSeeds
I've heard a bit of buzz around the blogosphere about SaviSeeds, and after
reading about them in Alive, I went out to the store to try some for myself...
Sacha Inchi, SaviSeeds, are also known as "The Inca Peanut" or "Mountain Peanut"
They come in 3 different varieties; Cocoa Kissed, Oh Natural, and Karmalized
I thought i'd start out with the chocolate covered ones first, just in case...
Inside they look like a peanut, but honestly, they don't taste like anything.
They have a nut-like crunch but hardly much flavor... although the
chocolate is the key to the reason they taste good though. Since
they are packed with healthy Omega Oils, I give SaviSeeds a thumbs up.
Plus, the convenient pouches make great travel snacks in my yoga bag :)
Questions: Have you seen or tried SaviSeeds?
Other than blogs, where do you usually go for
the latest sources of free health news?

I haven't tried it, but now I want to. I get a lot of info from the companies I am fans of on facebook and I look at the free Prevention magazine from the pharmacy.
I've never even heard of Saviseeds, but they sound good!! I usually look to health magazines or news articles for the latest source of health news. But of course, blogs are always a great source. :)
omgosh!those look and sound so good!! I have never tried them before! :(
Are we still planning to do a pkge exchange!?Iwould love to, if youare still up for it!??
I haven't seen those before, they look soooo good!
wow i never even heard of those but anything covered in chocolate can't be bad ;) i usually find random health stuff online and dink around vitaljuice.com sometimes. however, they advocate a lot of unhealthy crash type things from time to time so i just filter to what pertains to me!
The local co-ops put out newsletters that I read for new products, and it's nice because they feature what is on sale! And I honestly ask my mom a lot of times because she was more of a health "nut" in the 70s :)
I think I will not find those seeds here in Belgium... They look so good...
Here we have a magazine named 'Bliss' where you can read a lot of information about healthy and raw, pure food.
Love to read that magazine!
I have never heard of that seed but I am super curious. Does it seriously have the HIGHEST amount of omega 3s?.....
haven't seen those before. Very cool! I'll have to give them a try!

It's times like this that I wish I wasn't allergic to nuts. I think I've seen these in a magazine before also. Other than blogs, the only thing I really read are magazines. I wouldn't even call it reading either. Oh and I guess I read books to my kiddies. So I get my health info from magazines, news, or the Internet. Hope you're having a good week and have kicked that cold in the butt.
I've never heard of them, but they sound really good. If I ever see them I'll have to pick up a bag and give them a try!
I've never heard of these either but they look good...or atleast the chocolate does. I tried chocolate-covered mulberries from food should taste good (I think) and I thought they were really yummy. They look healthy too. Chocolate+health=happiness IMO!
I've never heard of Savi Seed either but it looks good...or at least the chocolate does. I tried chocolate-covered mulberries once from food should taste good (I think) and they were really yummy. Either way chocolate+health=happiness IMO :).
I've never heard of these savi seeds. I'll have to see if I can find them around here. Google always scares me when i look up anything health-related, so I try to avoid it! I mostly get my info from blogs and cnn.com.
ive never heard of savi seed.. but i already love the name!! so cute.. and i LOVE chocoalte covered anything.. so this is brill!
I always pass by these at the health food store I go to and wanted to buy some so many times but always ended up buying something else instead! I really want to try these now :)
I have never heard of those, but you could dip pretty much anything in dark chocolate and I'd be game to try it! :)
I must keep an eye out for these = although it normally takes a year or so before things start to appear in Australia ;)
I've never seen SaviSeeds before but they seem really interesting.
I've never seen those, but they look tasty! (I mean, I love pretty much anything if it's covered in chocolate. hahaha)
I love Alive magazine. I always pick up the new issue at work when it comes out. Tons of great information, news, and recipes in there for sure :)
I've yet to try SaviSeeds...in fact, I don't think I had even heard of them (I haven't read that issue yet). Nor have I seen them around.
I always pick up Alive whenever I'm at Loblaws! I didn't see this new issue out when I was there last. I'll have to go back to get it now!
I've never even heard of SaviSeeds before! I love that they come chocolate covered. :D
I never heard of those. I think it's funny how health food brands are now marketing ancient Indian foods. It makes me wonder what the next "superfood" will be. They look like they'd be tasty.. but looks aren't everything ;)
There's this neat publication around the states that varies from area to area called "Natural Awakenings". It's free and very interesting!
XO!!!
p.s. I forwarded your blog to a friend of mine since he's going gluten-free now :)
I'll have to give those a try
ive tried these before! but i think i bought them under the name "inca seeds" - they are very nutritious but for me personally (i ate them plain) they were not too tasty (maybe the chocolate coating was a good idea!) they were also expensive, so i dont think i would buy them again
oh these look tasty I do to Registered dietitians like myself on twitter he he
loved your split pea soup added to my blog and linked to you
hugs Rebecca
These look so good! I would love to try them. I had never heard of them until now, but I'm definitely intrigued.
I never heard of Savi seeds!! They look great! glad I checked your blog today, or I would have never knew about them!!
I get my health news from all my continuing ed newsletters, the internet (my fav educational health websites), things like that!
hope you are doing well!!!
xxoo
Never heard of those until now!
I love all the new superfoods that have been making appearances in supermarkets these days :-)
The nut-chocolate couple is my favorite, so I have no doubt that I'd make an exception for the Inca/Mountain peanut! Savi Seeds sound like a wonderful snack!
I get my health information from a variety of internet newsletters, magazines and scholarly journals...However blogs definitely take the cake when it comes to delivering the information in an entertaining way!
Just saw those at WF this past weekend. Almost bought them but wasn't sure what they were exactly. Now I know! Thanks!!
I just tried the au naturel ones (there's a bit of sea salt on them) and really didn't like the taste. I was hoping it tasted like a nut/seed, but there was a flavour of....fish! Ew! I really don't eat or like fish of any kind, so I was so disappointed. I almost gagged on the one I ate and definitely didn't eat more than one. I'll have to give this bag away to someone who likes the taste of fish. Not sure if it was due to the high omega 3 oil content? Who knows...reminded me of when I had to eat spoonfuls of cod liver oil as a child. So gross.
Tried this product and the taste was fishy as well and within one and a half hours I was violently ill from eating one serving. This happened twice before I realized what had caused me to get so violently ill. Be careful when trying as I am still having digestive problems since the last episode two weeks ago,
I suggest adding a "google+" button for the blog!
Hellen
They are seeds - NOT nuts.@LeQuan
