Fruit + Yogurt + Granola = Breakfast Parfait

I have a special fondness for parfaits. As a child there was hardly a morning
that went by where I didn't eat a fruit and yogurt parfait topped with granola.

And at restaurants when my family was ordering sausages, eggs, buttered toast,
bacon and waffles, I was daintily tucking away at my fruit and yogurt parfait :)

This morning I made a parfait with Plain Yogurt, Strawberries,

Question: What were your favourite breakfasts as a child?

We did a lot of cheese toast and cinnamon toast when I was a kid. I remember having oats occasionally. Oddly, I don't remember breakfast during my teens. The parfait looks delicious!

My mom's homemade cinnamon buns were most definitely my favourite breakfast as a kid.

How beautiful, served in a glass. Love the colors too!

When I was a kid, I was addicted to the typical cereals with lots of sugar like Frosties, Honey Pops, Choco Pops, etc.

Now, I hate them! I banned the sugar and now love my oatmeal in de morning, no sugar, just a pinch of cinnamon.

Yummy!

I was always a yogurt parfait person too! Although when I was really young, I ate those "parfaits" that you buy at the store...it comes with a granola type thing on top (it isn't real granola though, its just a crunchy sugar-filled topping of some kind). The crunchy topping comes in a container on top of the yogurt and I LOVED it, I was always sad that there wasn't enough crunchy topping and too much yogurt. I would have liked a huge container of the topping with a teeny tiny amount of yogurt haha.

I don't eat those yogurts anymore (I wonder if they even still make them?) and these days I make my own parfaits usually using goat yogurt. I love nature's path granola. I wish I could make a comparable homemade version that doesn't have quite so much sugar, but I've never had anything that even comes close to nature's path.

I liked just plain ol' Cheerios and milk when I was a kid. Except on weekends when my mom would make waffles!

That looks delicious! So pretty and refreshing. :)

My favorite breakfast as a child was probably.. pancakes. Or when I was at my grandmas, I loved when she made us a fried egg with hashbrowns and bacon. Things have definitely changed since then!

Your breakfast looks better than my desserts do. :)

I used to eat Raisin Bran for breakfast every single day. I actually didn't really eat it though, I'd throw it down the sink when my mom wasn't looking! I wasn't much of an eater!!

My favorite breakfast as a kid was definitely going to my grandparents' house where my grandfather would make me as many eggs as I wanted prepared however I wanted. No one ever made them better than he did. :)

One of my favorite childhood breakfasts was a yogurt face... my mom would cover a plate in yogurt and make me a face with cut up fruit, and she would give me a toothpick to eat the fruit with and I thought it was the bee's knees! :)

This reminds me of McDonalads' parfaits, only 10x better...haha. :) It looks delicious!

My favorite breakfast as a kid was the breakfast of champions: fruity pebbles. Or chocolate chip pancakes. Apparently I had a sweet tooth. ;)

I know I didn't like breakfast when I was young, but older, I loved muesli and cereal, and a nice chunk of birthday cake once in a while :)

Myam myam myam strawberries! Just had them yesterday night after dinner. Spring feeling! :D

I was a total cereal addict as a child. Not granola, though, but the sugary and flaky stuff. Always with milk.

I used to LOVE (and still do, actually) German Pancakes! The only difference between now and then is that I don't add syrup any more - I like them better plain!

Hey! Been reading your blog for a little while now. Love that you were able to find Green Cuisine tempeh. I would so pay you to send me some, I can't find it any more! P.S. Have you ever seen "One Flew Over The Cukoos Nest"? You have a twin who is a nurse in that movie... I know that sounds weird, but I knew you looked familiar!
