August Fig Harvest


"Here Figgy, Figgy!" It's that time of year again, time to get my paper
 bag basket out and march into the backyard to tend to my fruitful Fig Tree


I expect this to be deja vu for many readers 
that remember last year's Fig Tree Harvest


1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8... 9, 10....11, 12, 1.. $#%@ lost count! 1, 2, 3...


My Fig Tree is conveniently located right outside my bedroom
 window! Wait, ignore that, I don't want night creepers to find me


I take very good care of my Fig Tree, and it takes very good care of me :)


...unlike some of the men in my life haha, 
who could learn a thing or two from these Figs!


Uh oh, remember what happened last time I stepped on the ladder?

Okay, so I didn't pick as many this time because some still 
need time to ripen. Looks like a late season for figs this August!


WOAH WOAH WOAH! HOLD UP! 
Ummm I think my Figs are lactating... 


Breast Fig Milk anyone? 


Since my Fig Scuffins last year were a huge hit, I need to come up
with a plan of what to make or bake with this year's Figs. Hmm maybe 
Fig Newtons? or Cookie Batter Baked Figs? Oh the possibilities...

Are those figs even ripe yet? My sister's neighbour has a tree covered in figs that hangs over into my sister's yard, and they asked if they could have some - their neighbour said yes. I get to go take my fill as well :) But they are green like that still. I thought they needed to be much darker?

I love figs!! You're so lucky to have a tree in your yard. Did you plant it or was it already there? I need to find out if a fig tree will live in New Mexico. We'll be moving there and I would love to have a tree!

I will just stare and drool in jealousy! I had fresh figs for the first time ever a few weeks ago--and am in love. But I have no fig tree, and they are SO expensive at the grocery stores :( Wanna send me some? :D

I've only ever had dried figs! I need to get my hands on some fresh ones. Fig Newtons will always have a special place in my heart, I can imagine how good they'd be home made!

How cool is this! I have never seen so many figs before... or a fig tree for that matter! I love them in countless way... Fig Newtons of course... fig bars, jelly, dipped in almond butter :)
