Autumnal Equinox

Fall is officially here, and not just in the colours of my Fruit and Yogurt Parfait

Italian Prune Plums and diced Green Apple mixed
with Greek Yogurt, straight from the yogurt container

Liberté 0% Plain Greek Yogurt

I stole one of these Green Food Powder
Packets from my brother to use in my Parfait

As Seen On TV greens8000 Delicious Berry
Flavor with Acai Berry, "Feel the Greens!"

Complete with Alginek Support, Powrak Essential, XtraImmunAid, WildBerry
ImmunAid, and Ez-Go Digestox Plant Enzymes & DAIRY FREE Probiotics

Sprinkled half of the Green Food Powder on top of the Yogurt and Fruit

Then I put the lid back on the container and shook it up... shaken not stirred

The Stevia in the Greens Powder adds a nice sweetness to the Plain Greek Yogurt

You know what's better than Garage Sales?
The Free Stuff people leave out on the curb!

While I was walking home I noticed this Cash Register sitting among
an orange tweed office chair and badly worn oak wood filing cabinet

When I was a little girl I would play with plastic toy cash registers, longing for
the day to have a real one of my own. Well, at 22 my dream came true! So for
10 minutes I lugged this beast all the way home in pain with a smile on my face

Jalapeno Poppers, Nachos, Taquitos, Tacos, Taco Salads, Enchiladas, Quesadillas,
Mexi Pizzas etc. Definitely from a Mexican Restaurant considering these buttons

Would you like to add Guacamole with that?

Do I dare admit that when I came home to plug it in, the realization
that it was broken came as a blow to my happiness... hence the reason
it was on the curb in the first place! Oh well... time to play pretend, again!

Here's a bit of a twist on my Roasted Kabocha Squash Recipe

After baking the Kabocha Squash a.k.a Japanese Pumpkin in the oven, I
squeezed an assortment of Mustards on top, sprinkled with Nutritional Yeast

Spicy Brown Mustard and Yellow Mustard

Tucked underneath is chopped Broccoli Crowns

Question: What did you eat today as
your first meal for the first day of Fall?

LOL, the cash register is awesome!! When I was little, or for the first 20 years of my life, we owned an ice cream stand and a farm market, so I had real life cash registers, BUT they didn't have cool buttons like that. All they had were numbers. :) AWESOME find + haul home!

I didn't even realize it was the first day of fall! The Florida weather isn't cooperating ;)
Too bad the cash register doesn't work. It's still awesome, though.

I am so ready to bring on the fall flavors!

Oh nutritional yeast is a nice touch on the squash! I smothered my pintos with it tonight!

happy equinox!

and ppl leave free stuff on their lawns/curbs here ALL the time but not usually something as cool as a register. Skylar would have LOVED that! I did when I was a kid playing w/ cash registers.

your squash pics are splendid!

I also ate massive amounts of kabocha squash. cooked to mush and topped with cinnamon. the more orangey skinned ones are much sweeter!

I love reading and watching tv shows about food, but I have to admit I'm terrible when it comes to eating like a normal human being. I woke up and ate some Munchos chips and a Arizona Iced tea/lemonade...Had I known it was the first day of fall I would have ran down to the bodega on the corner and bought some roasted pumpkin seeds. My idea of cooking is boiling water for my Kimchi bowl of noodles. Fancy, yes, I know! ;)
Side note: I would love a side of guac!

I actually made oatmeal this morning, with raspberries, flax seed, almond milk, coconut butter and peanut butter. It was delicious, but oh so filling. I balanced it out with a green smoothie later on for lunch, and sushi for dinner :)

Oh my goodness - I have ALWAYS wanted a cash register!! I actually saw one at Costco a few months ago and asked the hubby if we could get it :-) He looked at me like I had 3 eyes!
