One Earth Functional Foods

No, this isn't a repeat of yesterday's post, I really did get another package in the mail!

One Earth Functional Foods "Food for functioning bodies" from Vancouver BC

One Earth was incredibly generous to send me some of their products to try
for you guys. Because of their respect of great-tasting natural foods and healthy
living, most of their products are gluten-free, high in fibre, and low in salt and fat

When they found out how much I love muffins, it's no surprise they sent me the best sounding muffin mix i've ever heard of, along with a bag of their Coconut Palm Sugar

Sweet Potato & Cinnamon Muffin Mix

 Gluten Free and High Fibre

You can bet I'lll be baking some Sweet Potato and
Cinnamon Muffins as soon as possible, stay tuned!

ONEearth Organic Coconut Palm Sugar. Rich Superior Tastemade from the nectar of the
coconut tree, Coconut Sugar is one of the best sugars you can use. It has a low
Glycemic Index (35) compared to traditional sweeteners such as refined table sugar
(GI 80), pasteurized honey (GI 75), raw sugar (GI 65), and evaporated cane juice (GI 55)

I myself am sensitive to the effects of sugar, but because this sweetener produces
"slow releasing energy", it's the ideal choice for anyone who doesn't want
the highs and lows associated with eating foods made with regular sugar or honey

Check out their exciting lineup of Baking Mixes: Quinoa Crunch
Chocolate Square Mix, Sweet Potato & Cinnamon Muffin Nix, Creole
Cornbread Mix with Kelp, and Chai Chia Coconut Cookie Mix!

I'm kicking myself in the butt right now b/c I just saw some of these products in Winner's last night and didn't grab any! DOH!

I wonder if they'll make their way over to the stores here in Kelowna! I can't wait to see how that cornbread turns out...

Just like Krista said - I think I've seen these products at Winners before! I don't usually like baking mixes, but that sweet potato muffin mix sounds so good!

I found a bag of the Quinoa Crunch squares mix at Winners a bit ago & made them in muffin tins- SO GOOD! I would add some chocolate chips in with the mix though. The chocolately flavor doesn't seem complete without gooey spots of chocolate here & there...

Coconut palm sugar is on my list of things I need to try. And if there is a Vancouver company that sells it, all the better! I will keep an eye out.

I recently tried coconut palm sugar as well! It's pretty good but not as sweet as other sweeteners.

What an awesome package to get in the mail. I love getting things in the mail. I'm in a functional foods class, so it is interesting to see what companies consider as functional foods.

sounds like a good company. i've never tried coconut sugar. it also helps to consume sugar with protein and fat to moderate the glycemic response.
