The further into Spring we enter, the more I crave backyard
barbecue meals like burgers, hot dogs, tacos and taco salads
And making the beef patties are as easy as combining about 1lb of meat
(or meat alternative) into a bowl with 1 large egg, 1/3 cup diced onion,
2 small minced garlic cloves, salt, pepper and any other seasonings
Then you mix everything together with your hands. To make the patty, just
scoop out about 1/4-1/3 cup of the meat and roll into a ball with your hands.
Using the palms of your hands, slightly flatten into a burger shape. Tip:
Press your thumb down into the center gently to ensure even cooking
(meat expands when cooking and you don't want the middle to be too thick)
I placed the patties in a lightly oiled pan, cooking over medium to med-
high heat for 5-10 minutes, flipping them a couple times on each side
Once the burger patties were cooked I placed a slice of cheese on top to start
melting before placing that on top of a lightly toasted sesame seed burger bun
A few veggies like sliced tomato and romaine lettuce were
added, along with condiments: ketchup, relish and mustard
All that's left for me to do is devour it :)
Tooting my own horn here by saying this is WAY better than fast food!

I am totally looking forward to the BBQ season! I love BBQd fish, ribs, hot dogs, burgers, veggies ... everything!
I can't wait for the BBQ season to start!!!! I love grilled chicken with tomatoes and things like that. Everything tastes better when it comes from the grill! :D
I love how you made those burgers gluten-free ... Mostly, burger recipes call for flour or soaked bread roll for thickening, but apparently that's not necessary! :D
Haha, that burger looks like a picture perfect one, with the right colour and the sesame seed bun. :)
I loooove BBQs and can't wait for grill season, the best thing is getting together with friends and family in the open air, so wholesome and nice.
