Coffee Run

When you're caught in a heat wave...

...you head to Starbucks for a Frappuccino!

Starbucks Cadboro Bay Village on Urbanspoon

Venti Espresso Light Blended Frappuccino (no whip)

It's been years since i've enjoyed a Frappuccino,
but they haven't changed; Still amazing as ever!

Doubled up the Espresso by munching on
 Cascadia's Espresso Chocolate Chip Muffin...

...well the top of it at least :)

Question: What is your favorite caffeinated
or decaf drink to enjoy in the Summer?

I haven't had a Frappuccino in forever!! Might have to try one on the next super hot day. I LOVE hot coffee, but when it's too hot and I'm dying of thirst, I grab an iced tea from Starbucks (usually mix the green with passion fruit). They totally hit the spot!

I LOVE the green tea frappachino at Starbucks. To save some money I just make it myself a lot, unless I'm going to Starbucks hehe.

I always make a fresh pot of coffee in the morning for me, my daughter and husband. Sometimes its all gone, other days I'll have half a pot left!

I now have a pitcher in my fridge for the leftover coffee to make iced coffees - no more waste! I like my caffeinated iced coffee with vanilla soy milk - so refreshing on a hot morning - and I do need my coffee!

My daughter says that those light fraps from Starbucks are only 200 calories - score!

Just give me water and lots of it. It's hot hot hot here and anything else just makes you more thirsty. Hope you're having a great Tuesday!

I usually do the iced tea for a refreshing kick in the butt! But honestly, I still stick to regular coffee and even hot tea in the summer- it doesn't seem to phase me unless I'm drinking it outside...

even though i'm terrified of snakes i LOVE your ring haha. fave drink in the summer is a sparkling ginger tea. i brew green tea from adagio.com and let it cool then i make a slurry with fresh ginger and ice and mix them together. top it off with sparkling mineral water yum!

Haha. I have to wonder what a "heat wave" is up there compared to here if you were wearing mittens only weeks ago. ;)

Lemon Ginseng Iced Tea and watered-down Pineapple Juice. Both so refreshing in summer heat!! Love you blog {and your ring}- your food looks scrumptous :)

Love the Frappuccino! My favorite summer drink is some cold chocolate milk! Delicious! xoxo

Lena said... [reply]

When it's hot out I love to get the iced green tea from Starbucks :) Lately though, despite the heat, I've still been drinking hot tea and coffee.

Hi love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how are you?!

I love your muffin addiction! I saw the yummiest ever muffins at the natural grocery store and thought of you! I am going to get one I think this weekend!

I love starbux frappucino lights, and no whipped cream for me either!

Hope you have a beautiful day!!!! xoxo

I am definitely a plain Jane when it comes to iced drinks. I stick with iced coffee + soy or just plain iced green tea. For whatever reason, I do not like sweet drinks other than juices.

Anonymous said... [reply]

hey girlie!!
it's been way too long since I've had a frapp! I need to get one asap! :)
I loveee making homemade iced-coffs (or ordering one from S-bucks!) I also like blending smoothies with sparkling water or soda...or having huge smoothies in a bowl for lunch! :)
I hope your week is off to a great start!
xoxo!

I love water, a cold beer, or starbucks black tea lemonade.

T. Leah said... [reply]

mmmmm Frappucinos!

Ok, this is going to sound a bit complicated, but I like to go to Second Cup and order a medium Vanilla Bean Latte, w/ skim milk, extra espresso and a shot of banana flavour syrup. the banana is the key!

shesarunner said... [reply]

I love your thumb ring!

I've never really been a frap person. I always drink hot drinks, even in the summer. Unless it's really hot, then I might drink iced tea...but I like it plain with no milk, milk sub, or sweetener. I used to drink black iced coffee and I kind of miss it, but coffee just doesn't agree with me anymore so I have to do without. The muffin looks great though (as always!)
xoxo

lequan@luvtoeat said... [reply]

I'd have to go with a nice big glass of cold lemonade. Frappuccinos kick ass too but now that I have kiddies, I feel bad not being able to share with them so I opt to get something we can all share.

Fresh iced tea from Panera is super refreshing. Iced Coffees are so good too. Thank you for your comment on my blog Kelsey<3

I haven't had one of those in years, I think its because I worked at Starbucks all throughout college and got sick of them, haha.

Favorite summer drink is definitely Strawberry Lemonade. YUMMY!

Mark said... [reply]

I'm quite boring when it comes to my choice in drinks. I only have one... water. Litres and litres of water. At least I'm never indecisive about what to have :)

Anonymous said... [reply]

Mmmm that muffin looks so wonderful!

I love a good iced tea in the summertime or green tea blended with ice and half and half for a real treat.

Emily said... [reply]

definitely love iced coffee in the summer. sometimes i drink it hot though because the mornings are cool, and we have air conditioning. :-)

eatmovelove said... [reply]

I'm drinking a coffee now :)...not cold though!

I heard you guys are getting a lot of fires in B.C with the heat wave! Take care of yourself.

Thanks for your comment about my Muffins - made my day - your a Muffin Connaisseur after all :)

Anonymous said... [reply]

I've been enjoying Starbucks' passion iced tea - it has no caffeine, so it's just right for me. (Funny though; I stopped drinking tea a month or so ago, and rarely drink coffee. But all of a sudden today I had a huge craving for iced coffee, which I never usually like.)

And muffin tops are the best!

Sara @ Nourish and Flourish said... [reply]

I went through a Frappuccino kick a few years ago and HAD to have one every day. Then I burned out and didn't drink them for a looong time. Just this summer, we've become reacquainted. Lovelovelove. :-D

p.s. the skirt is from Forever 21 (sshhh!!)

I drink my triple grande soy lattes all year!

Holly said... [reply]

Fresh ice tea all the way! Delicious! I make a cup every day when I get into the office. My coworkers look at me as if I am nuts though because it involves transferring hot tea to a cup full of ice. It is a process but worth it.

Cute ring.

teenagehealthfreak said... [reply]

my mom makes the best iced tea!!! but honestly...i've come to love iced coffee this summer....thanks to the blog world. :)!!!!!

lynn said... [reply]

starbucks frappucinos scream summer! i don't drink many coffee drinks anymore but when i did it was the iced blendeds (the original frappucino) from coffee bean and tea leaf.

Anonymous said... [reply]

I haven't had a Starbucks frap in a while either. I used to get a tall java chip light frap sans whipped cream. SO freakin' good!

Recently, I'm trying to save money by making my own drinks at home. An iced chai is perfect for if it's super hot. :)

mariposai said... [reply]

I love frappucinos, but my current summer favourite is the fruity slushy drinks that Costa do - especially the mango one! Mmm :-)

My winter drink of choice is the gingerbread latte (Costa rather than Starbucks though)

Those used to be my favorites! I consumed my fair share for sure. Now itsDr. Hansen's diet gingerale for me. :)

Anonymous said... [reply]

I love iced tea in the summer -- or just plain water with some lemon. Anything cold and refreshing!

But one thing I love about fall (and spring) is drinking hot drinks -- hot chocolate, apple cider, coffee, hot tea, etc.

Monet said... [reply]

I love starbucks, of course, and I enjoy iced soy lattes far too often. But at home...I've been making banana smoothies with almond milk. Yum!

Eden said... [reply]

Dont hate me, but I dont care much for starbucks, I've been to europe almost twice for every year of my life and its like, everything back here in the this side of the world just cant compare. Coffee always makes me pee a lot too for some reason,,,, sorry if thats tmi. I go there to steal sugar and honey packets though

Kristy Sayer-Jones @ Southern In Law said... [reply]

Everytime I read your posts, I feel like muffins - so I think I may have to bake some this weekend.

I don't drink coffee or anything but my favourite drink in the summertime would probably have to be a mango frappe :)

Lisa (bakebikeblog) said... [reply]

oooh it would have oto be iced coffee or iced tea mmmmm

Anonymous said... [reply]

Oh my goodness! Were did you get that ring??!! I LOVe it!!

ANd I just enjoy my iced tea :)

I used to LOVE iced grande skim caramel macchiatos (I'm used to ordering them in the proper order!).

Jessica (Healthy Exposures) said... [reply]

i've never had a frap! no starbucks nearby, either...haha. i probably make it sound like i live in a box or something down here :P i do enjoy iced coffees, though :)

Jenn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) said... [reply]

My favorite summer caffeinated drink is iced tea, but decaf would have to be lemonade. I like these year-round, though, so I don't know if they qualify, lol.

Geez, even your Starbucks in Victoria are cuter than ours! You're slowly convincing me that I need to move out West! :P

My favourite Starbucks drink in the summers is a Vanilla Light Blended Frappuccio.

Krista said... [reply]

I love either iced green tea lattes OR decaf Americano iced coffees from 'bucks!

Ashlei said... [reply]

Girl I LOVE your ring! I love Starbucks. I used to work there so now I'm a coffee snob. I love just plain brewed (in a coffee press) coffee and sometimes I'll make extra and put it in the fridge so I can have a kind of "iced coffee" later in the afternoon. :) I always look forward to my coffee in the mornings!

Mary @ Bites and Bliss said... [reply]

My favorite summertime drink is a smoothie- mainly the protein shakes I have after tough workouts :)

PS- that ring's awesome!!

Amanda @ . seek . said... [reply]

Ohh Frapps... It's been a while since I've had anything along those lines as well. I don't frequent Starbucks very often; I actually prefer our little Canadian chain, Second Cup, and my drug of choice from there was always a caramel flavored Chillate. I used to drink one basically every day in the summer, and it's hard to believe that I haven't had one in so long... gonna have to work on that one.

Angela (the diet book junkie) said... [reply]

it's funny, when i first moved out here i didn't know how i'd drink hot coffee in the summer. yeah....it's surprisingly no problem! i guess you get climatized :)

it's amazing how many cafes we have in Sydney. i swear, probably 2 on every block. i only drink drip, but here it's considered sacrilege. you GOTTA drink expresso. in fact, the only place you'll find drip is at Starbucks (guess cuz it's American.)

jeaouls of your heat-wave, btw. it's still winter over here :)

Jessie said... [reply]

Oh my gosh, I used to get Chocolate Brownie frappiccinos ALL the time - and they definitely weren't light! ;) They were so good, though, a nice treat to have when it's hot outside. I'll have to check out their new flavors. I love an iced tea on hot days, unsweetened, with some delicious baked good. Mmm :)

Anonymous said... [reply]

i love making an iced espresso and work with a half a shot of flavor and a bit of cream. yumyum!

i love your ring, btw :)

Anonymous said... [reply]

I love me a skinny cinnamon dolce frappe in the summer and a latte in the winter! Starbucks is the best :)

Sbux venti 4 pump vanilla non-fat iced latte ;)

It's tasty as can be!

Can you believe I am not a fan of coffee? If hard pressed I like cappuccinos but I barely drink those!

I am all over your chocolate chip muffin though - it looks delicious!

Red Latte on ice - with almond milk. This is made with Rooibus espresso. Yum! AND no caffeine, lots of anti-oxidants.

In Victoria at Venus Sophia, on Salt Spring at Cafe Talia.

Laury @The FitnessDish said... [reply]

I don't really do caf or decaf drinks in summer, however, I made an AWESOME mocha energizer smoothie that was like an ice coffe, without the coffee!! Made it a few thirsty thursdays ago...delish!!

I made choc chip muffins tonight!! You would be SOOO proud!!!
