Salt Spring Island Part Three

To finish off my Salt Spring Island photo tour,
I'm taking you to Barb's Bakery & Bistro in Ganges

Barb's Buns sign which states they make the Best Bread

Bright and friendly atmosphere upon entering. To the left is their cafe/
bakery and coffee, and to the right is a large open sitting/eating area

A wide variety of baked goods, pastries, desserts,
breads, sandwiches, bottled beverages, and more

From left to right: Raisin Bran Muffins, Zucchini Walnut Muffins, Cappuccino Chocolate
Muffins, Morning Glory Muffins, Sugar Free Spelt Muffins, and Pumpkin Millet Muffins

Hemp Heart Cookies next to Ginger Molasses Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies

The first muffin I bought was the Zucchini Walnut Muffin

With a delicious Streusel Crumble on top

These photos don't accurately show how large these were, but
you can get a better idea from the picture above in the display case

The second muffin I bought was the Sugar Free Spelt Berry Muffin

If you ever want a real muffin big top muffin, come to Canada!

I didn't try their breads so i'm not sure if they make
the best, but they sure make damn good muffins!

Because it was sugar free, it had minimal sweetness, similar to a scone

Both muffins get 5 stars from me! And if I had to choose
a favourite, I would say this Sugar Free Spelt Muffin wins...
clearly depicted from the amount of photos I took of it :)

Next time I visit Salt Spring, I will definitely try their Cappuccino Chocolate Muffin

In case you missed the 3-part series, or want a recap,
here's Part 1 and Part 2 of my trip to Salt Spring Island

You have me excited for my trip to SSI! I keep making lists of all the things I should try and check out in the short day trip I'm planning. My friend is gonna think I'm nuts, but it's all good. I see a muffin coming home with me for sure.

LOL, you eat so many muffins girl!! I am not a big muffin person, because I usually find them all really dry. I only like uber moist muffins.

Yum! All of those muffins look so good. I finally got a real muffin (big top) for the first time and it was amazing. I also bought my mom one but she didn't finish it all because apparently it was "enough to feed an army". Haha.. silly mom. I ate all mine. ;)
