Summer Sunshine Curtain Call

Doesn't this Yogurt-filled Melon Bowl look delicious?

1/2 Honeydew Melon

Liberte 0% Plain Greek Yogurt

After scooping out the Honeydew seeds,
I poured 1 cup of the Greek Yogurt inside

Topped with pieces of Carob Energy Nuggets from Whole Foods

Surprisingly, this Breakfast is very balanced; Proteins, carbohydrates, and fats

Summer in Victoria B.C. can be quite unpredictable. Remember
this post last year when I had to wear my winter coat in the morning?

Well I didn't have to wear my winter coat this year, but we definitely
didn't experience "Summer hot" temperatures either... until September!

This month we've seen temperatures between 25-28 celcius, which
is not only what we could consider 'hot' here, but rare for September

Before Summer's curtain falls, I have been outside tanning every
chance I get. Above is my "Sun Bed" which consists of a comforter,
bed sheet, pillow, and towel... a little "outdoor spa therapy" perhaps?

Lunch was an absolute favourite of mine; Green Gobbling Squash Monster

1/2 large Kabocha Squash, roasted in the oven at 400F for 50 minutes

Stuffed the Squash with a Broccoli, Kale, and Red Onion Stir-fry

And drizzled Eden Organic Yellow and Brown Mustard on top

Maybe it was all the heat that affected my judgement, but
I ended up having Dessert for Dinner (via Planet Organic)

Two Organic Nanaimo Bars, haha don't judge!

I have been addicted to Nanaimo Bars ever since I cam out of my Mommy's Belly

"Eye spy with my little eye"... My brother's butt crack in the background! lol

Traditional Nanaimo Bars are made with a Yellow Custard Filling
instead of White Cream, similar to my Nanaimo Bar Recipe

But both are equally delicious!

And if you haven't heard of a Nanaimo Bar, it's basically a layered dessert consisting
of a Coconut and Chocolate Cookie Bottom, Custard Filling, and Chocolate Topping :)

Question: What has the weather in
September been like where you live?

Our weather has been crazy hot! While I'm loving the Indian summer, I'm so ready for cooler weather. I love pants and sweaters way more than shorts and tanks.

Montreal the weather has been absolutely gorgeeeeous the past week!

I've been hitting up the shorts and skirts like a crazy because I know when I come back from my trip to Korea in October it is going to be chilllyyy.

As for the Nanaimo bars for dinner, best idea ever!!!! I looooove Nanaimo and actually posted a recipe yesterday for a blonde, vegan version which are amaziiiiingggg.

The weather in Japan? Pretty crazy. Where I live it is about 26-27 degrees Celsius at night 33-34 during the day. I can't wait until it gets at least a little cooler because I wasted too many weekends already hiding from the sun. I want to go out and explore :) .

I've never had Nanaimo bars although I've been drooling over pictures of them for years. Maybe I should have chosen a different country or continent...

I love your melon bowl! It looks delicious. I also love that you had nanaimo bars for dinner. They're the best! Right now it is cold here but it was really hot on the weekend

Confession - not a fan of Nanaimo bars. Never have been, even though I love all the components. Weird eh?

And it's been freakin' hot here - 30 degrees this past weekend. I might be melting.

We've been hot, my dear. Argh! But all this food looks so good! Thanks for making my morning a little bit sweeter :-) I'm baking a batch of cookies and then heading to work. Sounds like a good start, huh? Much love and hugs from Austin!

Mmm...that kabocha squash lunch looks absolutely divine! The weather here is becoming wet and windy, but I love seeing the leaves change from green to red/orage/yellow :-) xyx

It was SUPER hot last week (31 C), but today it was 10 C. Booo! I want the heat!

I miss tanning in my backyard.

Nanimo bars RULE.
