Yerba Mate Is The New Coffee

Sometimes making dinner can be a huge ordeal from prepping
vegetables, preheating the oven, seasoning the protein and timing it
so that each component of the dish is ready when the other ones are

But the biggest challenge of dinner is deciding what to make
in the first place...and God forbid you need to make a mad dash
to the grocery store because you've forgotten a key ingredient!

That's why I like to keep dinner simple by having a
variety of easy-to-prep and easy-to-cook meal options
in my mind to pull from without much though involved

Like roasting purple fleshed sweet potatoes/yams in the oven,
scrambling eggs with red onion and pepper and steaming broccoli

And then I quickly garnished the purple yams
with some ground cinnamon and yellow mustard

Easy as one-two-three...

You just have to figure out what proteins, starches and vegetables you have on
hand, then get creative and start coming up with some fabulous concoctions ;)

Lastly, I thought I would pick up some tea from Teopia, mainly
because I love tea but have been cheating on the habit with coffee

A small bag of Yerba Mate Tea from Teopia

Brewing instructions

Loose leaf yerba mate green tea

Quick facts:  Yerba mate provides the body with a very strong stimulant.
The stimulant in yerba mate is similar to 100 to 200 mg of caffeine. These stimulants
come from theobromine, xanthines and theophylline found in the leaves

Proponents of yerba mate claim that the stimulant found in this
beverage does not cause the jitters, anxiety or stomach distress like coffee

Additionally, yerba mate has 20 vitamins and minerals,
including potassium andmagnesium, 15 amino acids
and supposedly 90% more antioxidants than green tea

I wouldn't say this "The stimulant in yerba mate is similar to 100 to 200 mg of caffeine"... the unique chemical cocktail of yerba mate is something entirely different than coffee... it only has about 90 mgs at most..and the experience is totally different. You should try drinking it out of a traditional gourd.

Sauldo!!
