Ladies Night

I was so shocked to hear that almost every single commenter has either never tried a gluten-free product intentionally OR hasen't found one they liked.

This motivates me to make a future post about some of my favorite gluten-free products ie. bread, cookies, desserts, etc.

I was in a rush this morning to make it to my Moksha Hot Yoga class @ 9am. I grabbed another protein bar, opting for the pumpkin seed butter and chocolate flavor. Definitely gave me energy!

...and I snacked on some potassium banana before class :)

I get that yoga studios have mirrors.. but it's too distracting. If I look up and catch my reflection, I fall!

I can sympathize with those who have had bad experiences that have forever steered them away from buy gluten-free. Let me assure you that there are delicious companies out there that cater to celiacs. I know in British Columbia, celiac disease has become an epidemic. Every one knows someone with it. We have a couple bakeries that strictly avoid wheat/gluten- and I know Vancouver has even more. Let me know how many of you would be interested in a future post highlighting my favorite gluten-free goods...

I came home from yoga hungry hungry hungry :) Our instructor pushed us like CrAzY today. I joked with her afterwards about it, but she was impressed that everyone pushed through the 90 min class. Of course, it felt good afterwards!

Speaking of delicious gluten-free products. This is a great alternative to flour tortillas. They're super delicious and a bonus: they don't break when you try to roll them!

Slathered on some delicious Planet Organic spinach hummus dip :D I'm always debating between this and the roasted red pepper... both are winners.

Mmm grilled chicken, hummus, and veggie wrap; Exactly what I needed.

For dinner I made a quick and simple steamed broccoli, red onion, and chickpea dish.

Okay, now on to Ladies Night! Tonight my friend invited me out to ladies night, to celebrate summer break for college classes!

There may have been a little organic red wine involved...

Yuckie, don't like alcohol. Definitely nursed this glass.

Paired with a little Cocoa Camino spiced chocolate :D

Almost all my picture's didn't turn out. I think I had the camera on the wrong setting. Boo!

Hope everyone else had a wonderful evening!

That bar looks so good!!! I'm really jealous, actually, because there's a serious lack of gluten free products around here :(
Luckily, I have no problems with eating gluten, but definitely try and avoid it when I can xxxx

I am also not a fan of alcohol. gross

I've had those rice tortillas before, and I like them... but I've always had mine baked; never tried it straight out of the baggie so I don't know if the taste would be different.

I'm not big on alcohol, either, but I enjoy the occasional glass of wine. Definitely takes me a while to get it down though.

That chocolate looks delicious :) And that yoga studio does have A LOT of mirrors! I would probably be distracted too! hehe

This is odd, but my gym's aerobic room is basically the EXACT same layout as that yoga studio. Strange!

Ahh I hate mirrors! Hate hate hate. They are distracting and they drive me crazy when I'm trying to relax into yoga poses...or concentrate on weight lifting...or whatever it is I'm doing. Luckily the yoga studios I go to either have no mirrors, or just one mirror that I can try to hide from.
Thanks for sharing about your serotonin levels...how did you even get checked for that? I'm pretty sure that I have a chemical imbalance (probably low serotonin, there are other factors to it too though). I've had depression since I was a little kid and I've tried everything under the sun to boost my mood. Is there anything that has significantly helped you?
Thanks for being so supportive <3

Can you explain some of the benefits of going gluten free? I just tend not to try the products because I never knew the benefits. Thanks!

recently i've been wanting to adventure more into the world of gluten free cooking. i haven't been using as much gluten products lately and i feel great! i'm not going to cut it out completely, but i'm definitely not opposed to gluten-free anymore, but see it more as a bonus. do you have any products or whole grains that you could recommend that are high in fiber? that's usually my only complaint about gluten free products: not enough fiber. the bar you tried sounds really good! are they vegan? where did you get them? oh, and i totally love yoga, too. doesn't it just make you feel absolutely amazing?

have a lovely day (&happy earth day)!

I've luckily never been to a yoga class in a room with mirrors. I would definitely be too distracted (ha! Headstand while staring at yourself? No thank you ;))

I really like the last pic. It seems so.. nostalgic for some reason ;)

Yucky to alcohol?? I wish I had the same feelings! I love wine, and beer :) I didn't always, however.

As for gluten free products, I do like them. In fact, sometimes I prefer them to non gluten-free (As far as taste). I am actually on a wheat free diet (I don't know if you knew that) so I eat a lot of gluten free products, but many of them also have fruit juice concentrate, which I can't eat. The chocolate and pumpkin seed butter bar looks VERY good!

I love the gfness. I like most GF things I have tried...and often times they are healthier.

I also love the chocolate!

Your last picture looks very artistic! :)

I'd love to hear some of the products you like that are gluten-free. They're becoming more prevalent, but I still have trouble finding good brands to recommend.

Have a great day!

mirrors in yoga studios...as a teacher it's so annoying b/c students focus outward on the mirror rather than inward on themselves!

Hope you thoroughly enjoyed your girls' night!!! I love having mirrors for a dance class or weights, but would totally be thrown off in yoga.
