Without any warning, I've been abducted by a winter cold!
You know the one...watery eyes, constant sneezing,
mild fever, muscle aches and overall yuckiness...
So why not share my snotty Kleenex pictures with you right?
I mean, it's not like I haven't done it before :)
My pre and post sneezing face...
You know what the worst part is? I was planning on
making Gluten-Free and Sugar-Free Muffins today...
But the baking will have to wait until I feel better :(
Question: I need your natural cold remedies;
I'll try just about anything (within reason haha).
Got a magic witch potion to help a sick little squirrel?

Feel better! I don't know of any magic potions, but if I did I would send it right to you!
I wish I did! If I was closer to you, I would make those muffins for you! Feel better sweetie!
All i did was constantly eat/ suck on halls, vicks, and fisherman's friend. However, I don;t think it was healthy, but atleast I didnt have the sick feeling while one was in my mouth.
I think extra rest is the cure.
Awww! Sick days are no fun :( I hope you feel better soon!
I like loading up on vitamin C. My favorite brand is Raw Code (made from raw foods). Drink lots o water and tea ;) Rest.
Aww, I am so sorry that you're sick! I've been fighting a cold these past few days, too. I've had very little energy, a stuffy nose, a scratchy throat and achy muscles. Not fun at all. I hope you get better! Also, if you're feeling up to it, maybe you should try baking the muffins. I did that when I was sick... it helped a lot. :P
oh no! feel better :( i like to drink ginger tea, i roast garlic with tons of veggies. also, drink carrot juice+cayenne pepper to clear my nasal passages.
I have a naturally very strong immune system but if I accidentally get a cold, I just drink herbal tea, eat a lot of fruits (especially lemons) and even more garlic and onions than the usual. And honey is very good for the throat.
Get well soon!
I usually try to run or walk it off... then I drown myself in 47,000 cups of chamomile tea!
Awtch, I'm sorry you have to feel that way!
What helpts a lot: rest, rest, rest. Lots of sleep...
Hope you feel better soon!
Feel better. OJ, soup and sleep are all I can offer.
No great or unusual ideas. Just stay hydrated, get lots of rest, and feel better soon!
Aw no! I hate pesky colds! Here are my no-fail cold cures, they work for me EVERY time I get sick:
-Echinacea (preferably the liquid drops)
-Ginger (you can boil some ginger root into tea or grate some into a smoothie or stir fry)
-Garlic
-Lots of Vitamin C
-Vegetable juice and soups
-Traditional Medicinals brand "Throat Coat" tea
A day or two of using these and you will be a healthy lady again! xoxo
Awww... feel better soon! This weather combined with a cold is just downright awful!
I usually just chug green tea like no other. Not sure if it actually works, but I pretend it does. :)
Sorry love, hope you feel better soon!
I love Echinacea drops/pills, they always help. And old recipes like eating garlic, onion and honey. I hope you will get well soon!
Tanja
I'm sorry you're sick :( I suggest drinking really a lot of tea with bunch of honey and lemon, having big meals full of protein and nice carbs, and, making a kick-ass soup. carrot, pumpkin, and a generous sprinkle of spices, curry, cinnamon and ginger. Trust me, it helps ;)
Awwwee Kelsey feel better soon!!
I wish I had a magic potion to share with you! I do love Theraflu, though :)
oh no, not fun! I also go for hot tea lemon and lots cinnmaon/honey for antioxidants.
LEMON + WATER + HONEY(Preferably raw) is a MUST. Also tea with holy basil in it! Feel better my love!
Oh no sorry Kels get well sooon<3 Ginger tea as others have suggested works really well. If you don't have the tea bags you can cut up a knob of ginger and boil it for a few minutes. You can also put some kind of milk of your choice and sweetener (my parents have it with milk and sugar). Try taking a bath and throwing on some warm and cozy clothes so you feel comfortable. Love you thanks for the comment on my blog it meant a lot to me.
Get well soon <3
Awww...I really hope you feel better soon Kelsey :(
When I'm sick, I try to get a lot of rest and eat LOTS of fruits. Most importantly, just listen to your body. Give it the rest it needs to recover. Take care, dear!
Aww feel better soon!
Awww, Kelsey! Being sick stinks! Make sure you're getting lots of Vitamin C, drink lots of orange juice, eat spinach!
You comment on my cookie post was amazing, thank you ♥ ♥
Being ill is always horrible, especially when it gets in the way of things :( When I have a cold I find that ginger tea helps a lot! Also, making soups with cayenne pepper, if your body is telling you that it needs 'proper' food. Sometimes just sticking to fruit smoothies helps. And just resting in general, of course.
Hope you're feeling better soon xxxx
I chug the crap out of green monsters when I'm sick for the nutrient boost. Feel better soon!
AHH this looks terrible!! best wishes!
FEEL BETTER :(
1. Warm water with freshly squeezed lemon and a bit of raw honey
2. Fresh green juice
3. GT's Kombucha
4. Reading lots of good books in bed!!
5. Heat water and mix with a teaspoon of turmeric...add stevia or honey. This is really good for cleansing the bloodstream.
Good luck girl! Can't wait to see the muffins :)
Hope you feel better! I'm in the middle of batting a cold/flu myself, try Kim's Tea Recipe: http://kimberlysnyder.net/
It's soothing, calming and most importantly, it's working! ;-)
Feel better soon! You need good old fashion rest....;)
Aww, poor Kelsey, feel better! Roasted onion is supposed to help with colds (although I've never tried this remedy myself). And, of course, lots of rest!
Get well and I'll look forward to your muffins!
Ugh, I had one of those last week! My best remedy is chillin' on my bed all day with a complete blanket and the early seasons of Weeds on my Netflix account ;)
Ooh just discovered your blog! Lovin it! :D
Unfair how you still look so lovely even when you have a cold! Haha you should see me when I'm ill!!
Get better soon, because I want that muffin recipe! :P
Feel better, Kelsey! My sister has been sick for almost 2 WEEKS now and I know a lot of other people have been getting hit. Hopefully yours doesn't last as long. Drink lots of fluids and get in good amounts of vitamin C (all the other vitamins and minerals too!). Most of all: relax. You'll be back to baking your gorgeous muffins soon!
Feel better! My biggest tip is lots of water and hot broth! Flush that stuff out!
i know you're feeling like poo but i have to say you are soo cute!
Ah that's the worst!
Hope you feel better!
awe why are you so cutee? I cant take it!! I hope you feel better <3
Oh, poor you! I hope you'll feel better soon!
I always find that DRINKING a lot really helps, especially hot water with a piece of fresh ginger in it. Inhaling over a bowl with charmomile tea and a splash of Japanese mint oil, and with a towel on your head to keep all the steam beneath it. And a hot bath with a bath essence that helps with colds, like mountain pine or thyme. Then wrapping up into a warm pajama and off to bed with a hot water bottle to sweat the whole stuff out.
Feel better!!!
I take homeopathic cold and flu pills. They work!
Aww, you still look cute, even when you're sick! ;) Feel better soon girl!
Awr, so sorry to hear that you're sick! The old standbys work for me: soup, vitamin C, and rest. Feel better soon!
Feel better SOOON!!!
Aww, I hope you feel better soon! You're on the right track with a warm blanket and cozy pj's :D Drink lots of lemon water (like others have said) and avoid dairy, because it tends to make you more mucus-y (yuck lol)
Oh sweetie . . . you look brutally sick! :(
I have yet to try it but I'm told that oregano oil works MIRACLES!
Uuummm, THANK YOU for the sweet comments on my blog. You're a gem. Adding you, my friend, to my Google reader now. Feel better!!
I'm so sorry you are sick, sweet girl...but I have to admit that your "sick" posts are some of my favorites. You just look so darn cute, and I want to come over and make you a big pot of soup! I would advise you to drink A LOT of water (which you're probably already doing) and sleep, sleep, sleep!
Feel better love <3
Feel better! I just usually drink lots of OJ.
P.S. Thanks for your recent comment. Glad to see you are still reading. :)
I was sick this past week, with a nasty cold, and my remedy was a workout and healthy diet. IT helped! The cold lasted 4 days and was one of the easiest ones to get through. It was light workouts, but I always sweat, and I've read this is good to do!! But, I did not have a fever.... this may change things.
Hope you feel better.
Oh no! I'm sorry your sick. :-( I tend to overload on vitamin C and fluids.
I hope you get well soon. xx
Best ever cough suppresant...hot water with 1 tsp lemon and 1 tbsp honey. Will make you feel tons better!
Aww feel better !!!
Awwww, so sorry you're sick! I usually drink lots of tea, make some soup, and sleep. Feel better ASAP please!
Ugh. Colds are the worst! Here's to hoping you're on the mend asap!
Aww, poor little squirrel!! I hope you feel better :) I know chicken broth is supposed to help colds :) Plus rest!
Sad! Hope you feel better soon!
I think drinking tea and fluids, staying away from sugar, and taking some extra vitamin C always help. :)
Looking forward to the recipe AND you getting better!
When sick I go for hot lemon water with cayenne, hot whiskey (Irish remedy), coconut water and dry cereal.
Ah, feel better!
(poor squirrel looks lost in the sea of tissue... lol)
Aw feel better soon! Sip lots of tea!!
I've been hit with a horrendous cold this week as well - I totally feel your pain. I've just been trying to get in the fluids as much as I can, and get enough sleep (which we know doesn't always happen).
Edgar cayce has a remedy to knock a cold out at the first warning signs. Mix 40 oz unpastuerized orange juice with 2 freshly squeezed lemons and drink it all within a half hour. I know it sounds crazy and impossible but it's very possible and it will alkalize your body, resulting in you feeling better. Another cool thing Mr. Cayce suggested is carrying around a "gold coin". This coin consists of carbon steel that produces a low electromagnetic feild to help circulate the body's ions preventing a cold altogether. :)
