Carob Protein Frosting

While brainstorming in the kitchen this morning, I concocted
"carob protein frosting" that tastes like caramel sauce!

Carob Protein Frosting
created by Snacking Squirrel

1 Tbsp soy or almond milk
1-2 Dashes stevia liquid or powder

Directions:

A. Gently combine the nut butter and protein powder together
B. Slowly stir in the nut milk, then blend in the carob powder and stevia
C. Add more milk if too thick, or more protein/carob powder if too thin

I spread my Carob Frosting on toasted Ezekiel 4:9
Cinnamon Raisin Bread with a side of sliced Bananas

The frosting is so addictive and there's definitely a hint of caramel in the flavor

Another reason to replace Nutella with something healthier :)

The Bananas approved after wrestling in the "Carob Mud Pit"

I have been mixing carob powder with almond butter in huge batches the last couple weeks...isn't it amazing??? So good! I have it almost every day on toast with bananas. It also tastes GREAT on sweet taters ;)

I've never tried carob. Does it taste like cocoa? Beautiful idea, however! :)

I don't mind eating the not so healthy version but I just cannot find the real thing anywhere so... maybe I will consider making my own soon :)

Ooooh! looks delicious-- don't usually bookmark recipe but this one definitely is getting it's own tab. It looks so creamy, and perfect slathered on some bread!
