A fatal fall claimed the life of my beloved Nikon Camera. I've
had it for over a year now as it was a gift for my 21st birthday
It happened while I was taking more of these
photos using the 10 second self-timer function
In the midst of being wrapped like a pretzel a yoga pose I watched in slow motion as my
Nikon Coolpix S3000 leaped stumbled off the chair and onto the hardwood, to its death
You can see where landed on the lens and bent the one side in. It was
much worse than this photo but I tried to counter-act the damage by
lightly pulling the side of it back out. No luck and an expired warranty!
But I will be honest, the silver lining in this is
that my Nikon was due for an upgrade anyways!
After browsing around for a new camera and flirting with the cute sales guy at
Of course I thought about investing in a larger and more professional
camera, but I love my little Nikon Coolpixes too much to give them up
Me, my long john pajamas, and my new camera!

LOVE my nikon. i used it for yesterday's photo shoot in the enchanted forest. (yes, i actually carried a tripod to capture the images of me and gwendolyn!). http://nicoleandgwendolyn.com/2011/11/13/a-sunday-love-affair-with-nature/.
it's the NikonD3100.
enjoy your new camera love! i think that i speak on behalf of your blog followers that we shall enjoy the photographs!!! <3
My deep condolences. It is always hard to lose a little mechanical friend. I still miss my first mobile phone a little :) .
For me Nikon are the best cameras. Although I still use my Olympus half of the time, I can say that using the Nikon 7100 I bought for my brother feels like opening my eyes after being blind for years. The difference is just amazing and in the hands of someone with more skills every picture will be stunning.
Oh noooooooo!!!!!!!!!
Is there any possibility to fix it?
I have a Canon pocket cam, but I want a Nikon DSLR to make really *good* photos ... I'm going to settle down in the Nikon camp, that is.
Yay for a new camera! I have a Nikon too and I love it! :)
Rest in pieces Nikon Coolpix s3000 but yay for a new camera!!!
Ouch, sorry about the camera :-(
Poor camera - but at least you turned it into a positive and upgraded to a new one :D My worst camera tragedy was when I dropped my camera into a bowl of soup I was photographing. Fortunately, it wasn't my DSLR, and I managed to get it cleaned off and working again. The lens sticks every once in awhile, but whatever.
that camera takes amazing pics....thanks for the link to this post :)
