Hauling Out The Holidays

My holiday break has been relaxing; I've been able to spend more
time cooking and baking, catching up with family, basking by the fireplace
eating chocolate, and reinforcing my spot in the sofa, watching movies :)

But the holiday season is winding down, which means that the decorations
and outdoor lights must be taken down, and xmas oven mitts stored away

On second thought, I think my red oven mitt with snowmen,
snowflakes and hot chocolate can stay a bit longer... it's too cute!

Do you know what else I should get rid of? My horrible
Kabocha Squash habit! New Year's Resolution perhaps?

with diced Purple Yams/Japanese Sweet Potatoes mixed in

And just a light drizzle of mustard

The vegetables are all tucked underneath per usual...

And I added a few extra sprinkles of cinnamon to enhance the sweetness

Even though I am more of a "Fall/Autumn Girl" than a "Winter Girl",
there's a few things worth mentioning that occur this time of year...

Yes, the Starbucks Christmas Blend Coffee in their decorative winter cups

Oh, and speaking of "hauling out the holidays" the Christmas tree will have to go...

Question: What are you going to miss most
about the Christmas Season and Winter Holidays?

Oh my, I bet that combination of the sweet potatoes (those are my faves) and the squash is like heaven on a pan! YUM! I'm kinda ready for the season to be over. I'm ready for the next chapter to begin! Happy New Year Kelsey!

that squash dish looks amazing especially given the fact that I love kabocha squash! haven't checked lately, but used to be able to find it at whole foods in TO.

Beautiful tree!

I will miss my family and my dog. Everything else is available all year long.

Happy New Year!

Don't kick your squash habit! I love looking at the amazing dishes you whip up. Plus, squash is NEVER a bad thing. (:
I'm definitely going to miss Starbucks' Christmas Blend- I love it. And being home with my family and doggies.
Happy New Year!

I love the glove and I'm happy it'll stay a little longer! My snowmen are also going to stay until the end of February!

What I miss about Christmas and the winter season it the spirit of kindness and excitement, the cosiness, the lights, the wonderful flavors ... and the snowmen! I usually start looking forward to the season in August every year. :)

What's wrong with a kabocha squash habit? :D
