Library Lounging and Christmas Coffee

When I have the day off, one of my favourite pastimes is visiting the local
Public Library. As nerdy as it sounds, going to the library can be really fun!

Even though my mom is a librarian, I HATED reading when I was
growing up. But then again, who really wanted to like something that
their parents liked? But my mom can be proud of me for all the books I
read now. You can see my overstuffed book shelf & book collection here

Greater Victoria Public Library

The Nellie McClung Branch

This branch is not too far from me, so it makes for
a great little walk and exploring the neighbourhood

The best is the one downtown, which I took photos of here, because it's much larger

Entrance into the library

While browsing the Health and Fitness section, I came across this hilarious read:
Yoga for Wimps by Miriam Austin. "Poses for the flexibly impaired" haha

Unfortunately I didn't take that book out but I spent a solid 15-20 minutes
flipping through the illustrations, being that girl laughing senselessly to herself

On the way home I stopped in at Starbucks to pick up a Grande Christmas Blend
Coffee. I debate with myself back and forth on whether or not Starbucks makes good
coffee. The Christmas Blend is definitely the best in my opinion. It's much smoother
and lighter than their other blends, with hints of chocolate and notes of gingerbread!

Another random deer crossing on my sunny travel home. But don't let
the sunshine fool you, the weather is cold out there! 'Tis mitten season:)

Questions: Do you visit the public library? How often
do you read? What books are you currently reading?

I have just started getting back into the habit of going to the library. I love it. There's something so peaceful and comforting about a giant building filled with books.
I'm currently reading "Imperfect Birds" by Anne Lamott. I'm about halfway through and loving it so far.
And I agree, Starbucks' Christmas Blend is by far the tastiest.

I love going to the library, and actually am getting my M.A. in Library science :) I go to the local library once a week, so they know me pretty well. The starbucks Christmas blend sounds amazing. Maybe I should pick some up when I go tomorrow since my pumpkin is getting nixed quickly..

childhood visits to the library with my mother are some of my fondest memories. i can still smell the old books and feel her hand, holding mine. now i'm more of a "buy at b&n.com" kind of gal because i enjoy building a library. i'm undecided about starbucks, too. i tend to crave their roast on sunday, but not on any other day of the week. it's quite odd. i just go there to buy nuts and KIND bars on the other six days.

I used to take the boys to the library when they were little. We loved going. Sadly, I'm not a great reader. I don't feel like I retain things well unless I put them to practice or read them over and over. I studying for my nutrition certification, so right now I'm reading that. I LOVE it!

I generally don't like Starbucks coffee but I have finally found the perfect order. Soy misto with cinnamon dolce syrup. So. Good. And...I love libraries! I am just so cheap when it comes to buying books--you can get a lot of great titles there for free!!

I love libraries and I love books. I could spend my life in a library or bookstore. That coffee sounds good. I'm going to try it.

I love libraries and that looks like a lovely one - what a great way to spend a winter day! I read *all the time* (no, really) and it's usually fiction of some sort. :P There will be a lot of reading today, since I have the day off (for an icky reason, though - I'm sick)

That coffee sounds lovely - how do you take your coffee? Black? Do you like to sweeten it at all? I'm always curious, being the caffeine addict that I am.

I love books but find libraries a bit stifling - I'm really enjoying the A Song of Ice and Fire series at the moment :)

Oh how I love the library! There is a gigantic one downtown that hubs and I went on a date to...some date - we both disappeared in opposite directions! I just love the prestige and feel of being surrounded by endless shelves of books :) Although I could never work at a library - I did it for a semester in college and I was bored out of my mind!!! I could never read on the job, or do homework, so it was uber boring... I might have even taken a few naps on the job under the study desks. Shhh!
I was going to list out what I'm reading, but the list is long right now: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/155857-bianca-o

I adore the library - I used to spend hours there when I was a kid! I don't check out books because I have trouble returning them on time, but I have a very soft spot for local public libraries!

I always forget how much I love the library. I haven't been in a while.

I read a lot, and enjoy it very much.

I can't believe the deer isn't fleeing! lol
I am embarrassed to say I have no idea where my local library is.
