Do You Speak Cheese?

Cheese and I have fallen in love. Enough said.

My breakfast this morning was extraordinary. By adding a simple slice of Emmental Cheese to my usual Egg n' Spinach Wrap, the flavor factor was kicked up 10 notches!

Savory cheesiness tucked into a brown rice tortilla :)

Followed by a mug of coffee. I was going to put it in my new red mug
but unfortunately it's in the dishwasher. ..

Oh, and i'm not on Facebook anymoreit's because I deactivated
it... so don't think I deleted you or anything. Facebook just isn't for me,
and so i'm going to keep my social networking mainly with my blog :)

Lastly, for those who use Bloglovin', I updated my account because
realized it was still set up to my old blogspot URL instead of  dot com.
So now you can switch over to the new link instead :)

I HATED Twitter, and refused to sign up on principle... until I HAD to do it for a class. So, yeah. I think it's all fine and good to use social networking sites to keep in touch with people you know; but I hate it when people accumulate "friends" just because they think it makes them look "cool," or whatever. Pet peeve.

PS -- nope, I don't speak Cheese. ;)

I do facebook and blogging. I like facebook since I can keep in contact with the outside world. My husband and I work from home, so outside contact is limited. I don't understand twitter, but people seem to love it. I don't use social networking sites for really personal stuff though. Your breakfast looks delicious! Love the brown rice wraps!

When I run out of cheese I dont know what to cook. I just cant imagine a meal without it. I may have a problem. :)

I have a love/hate relationship with facebook. I dont use it for my blog, just personal, but sometimes it makes me feel like Im still in high school. Hate that.

Oh, Cheese is one of my favorite languages. I am a feta addict. But I wouldn't mind stealing your wrap :D

I don't have a twitter and I don't think I will ever have one but facebook has been one of my main ways of communication for almost 4 years and without it I will probably finally realize how pity I am so deactivating my account is not an option for now :P

I love cheese. And go through stages with it. I've cooled down on it over the last week, but there's always a stock of it in my refrigerator (just in case!).

I like facebook because i'm able to keep in contact with more people. It's hard for me to spend time on the phone with everyone how I'd like, so it helps by me being able to drop in to say a quick hello. :)

This looks so yum, and i love your mug!

I like Facebook because I stink at calling people on the phone, so I'm able to stay in touch much better. Not to mention, I work from home and am alone all day, so it's my way to reach out to the world! :)

I'm not really a big fan of Twitter (even though I have one. Peer pressure!). I do like Facebook though, it's nice being able to keep in touch with old friends and reconnect with people.

theres leaders, and then theirs followers. good choice staying about from facebook.

Your blog is the definition of food porn!!! Hot damn! I have such mixed feelings about social networking- I love it but find it weird and awkward at the same time!

Ah, social networking. I held out for a long time (this coming from someone who got their past computer at 26, mind you). I worry that constant status updates, twitter and what have you only encourages an increasingly self-indulgent and self-focused population, but on a lighter note, it's a nice way to keep in touch with people I wouldn't talk to otherwise. Plus, the political/social organizing potential of social media is pretty fantastic - I love posting links to interesting articles or websites.

Dang, if you're in love with cheese, then I must be having a love affair with it. Naughty cheese ;-). By the way, I thought your title was "Do you speak Chinese" at first. Lol.
I love Facebook. Being a stay at home mom of two, I don't have much a social life anymore so FB really keeps me in contact with a lot of my friends.

I deactivated my facebook account for months and months...and recently I reactivated it. I felt a little out of touch with my family and friends, facebook tends to make things a little easier. And I felt that now that I am on my way to this career that I am so passionate about, I needed to start doing some more social networking (even though I hate it!). But I definitely understand your reasons for not wanting to be on it.
I actually felt very free when I didn't have a facebook account :)

oooh emmantal is one of my all time favourite cheeses! I have my blog for ... well bloggy stuff - although I also have a facebook account just for my 'personal' stuff.

Kate (What Kate is Cooking) said... [reply]

I speak cheese fluently! It's my first language, actually :)

Kristi said... [reply]

I still have my facebook page, but I don't really get on it that often anymore. I don't have anything against it, but I think when my mom got a facebook page I decided it wasn't for me :)

Your brown rice tortilla looks so good! I've seen those at the store, but I've yet to try them. After your post today...I'm buying a pack tomorrow! I love cheese too, and I'm about to sit down to a toasted cheese sandwich. As for social networking? I love facebook...but that is about it!

ytotheummy.com said... [reply]

I used to la-la-la-love cheese! Now that I know how much it jacks up my GI though, I'm not that interested :( My fave was manchego! mmm.

Courtney said... [reply]

While I like social media, I do think there are a lot of privacy issues. Little kids who are on facebook just don't understand the harm that can come from being on social networking sites at such a young age.

decibelbelownormal said... [reply]

I use Facebook to keep in touch with friends who are away travelling but I'm not a massive fan. I think people put way too much information on there.(Says the girl who has a personal blog :-) oh the irony!)

Jolene - EverydayFoodie said... [reply]

I like social networking sites, but I typically get bored after about 3 minutes of being on them.

Ashlei said... [reply]

No cheese for me :( Upsets the tummy! Boo! I used to love adding a little on top of salads/sandwiches, whatever! No more though. That looks pretty yummy though.

xoxo

I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of cheese..but holy yum that breakfast looks sensational! And I'm on Facebook but surprisingly not nearly as much now that I have a blog. I used to check it *all* the time but now I'll glance at it every now and then.

PS- beautiful mug! Almost as cool as the red one, almost. ;) haha!

Have you ever tried slices of sharp cheddar and apple on crackers? If you've seen the movie Ratatouille, I would compare it to the scene where the mouse Remy talks about all different flavor 'explosions' in his mouth lol it's tasty.

simplyshaka said... [reply]

I always welcome pictures of ooey gooey cheese.

Ugh, I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook. I have so many people blocked from seeing my stuff. I hate that I get friend requests from people from HS that I never talked to. But I've lived in 5 different states so its a good way to keep in touch with people I actually want to be in touch with. Don't even get me started on work people who friend me....

Chelsea said... [reply]

Why yes, I do speak cheese! Fluently. ;) Lately I've been loving cheese and apple paninis!

I think Facebook is a good way to keep in touch with people, but I don't like how it's replaced phones as a way to communicate with our close friends. It's so impersonal!

Marina said... [reply]

Thanks for the comment, Kelsey!

Cheese is the one thing I can never truly give up. That's why my diet will never be 100% vegan.

I am addicted to Facebook (speaking of which, I'll add you on there!!), don't like Twitter though.

Marina said... [reply]

Never mind! I just somehow missed that part about you NOT being on Facebook anymore! Oops! lol

thisitalianfamily said... [reply]

Aww I love cheese... sadly I've recently realized that my body doesn't love cheese. But! Thankfully there are substitutes that are tasty! So it's all good gravy. :)

Kayla (Little Miss Healthify) said... [reply]

Yum, the melty cheese looks so gooey and delicious!
I used to LOOVE Facebook, but I'm so sick of it now, I was thinking of deleting my account. I just like it because so many of my friends from church have one and it makes it easier to get a hold of them!

Ayla said... [reply]

You're off Facebook?! Can't say I blame you. I've actually thought about leaving a few times but.. I'm still there. It's a good way for me to keep in touch with people I don't get to see much. I will be going through my friends list and downsizing though. Just because someone was my classmate doesn't mean they're my friend, you know? So they're going.

As for Twitter, I have it but don't use it too much. Usually I'm lucky if I visit it once a day. :/

PS. I definitely don't speak cheese. Even when I ate dairy I was never a huge fan of it which is weird because so many people are crazy about it!

I don;t use facebook cause i am too cool for it

Oooh your breakfast looks super delicious!! I'm not actually a huge cheese person.... probably because I'm lactose intolerent. That doesn't stop me from occasionally having cheese and ice cream though (just to clarify, I don't eat cheese and ice cream together).

As for social networking, I just use my blog and facebook. Facebook is handy for keeping in touch with friends but I barely go on. Blogging is the best!!

Jess@atasteofconfidence said... [reply]

I definitely think social networking sites make it harder for us to socialize face-to-face, because we are so conditioned to just typing in words, rather than actually socializing. That said, I still use Facebook and twitter! They are great ways to stay in touch with friends far away:)

Maria @ Chasing the Now said... [reply]

I've been on facebook since 2005. That's a long time! I mainly use it to connect with high school friends these days.

I used to have a lot of different social media accounts, but I've paired mine down to just FB, Twitter, and Daily Mile (basically.) I use the last one to track my workouts.

Ellen@FirednFabulous said... [reply]

Cheese and I fell in love a loooong time ago! That wrap looks so yummy...MmMm..

Sara @ Nourish and Flourish said... [reply]

Yes, I definitely speak cheese! But how did I forget about Emmental?! I'm going to go buy some RIGHT NOW. No joke...I spent a summer in Switzerland when I was in high school and lived off of Emmental! I haven't had any for years.

I'm on Facebook and Twitter, but hardly ever use Twitter. It seems pretty silly to me. I like Facebook because I'm able to stay in touch with friends all over the world who I wouldn't regularly be in contact with otherwise. But I don't like the fact that it's completely taking over people's lives! Have you seen The Social Network? After watching that movie, I almost deactivated my account too!

Marianne (frenchfriestoflaxseeds) said... [reply]

Mmmm, cheese. I'm always in love with cheese. LOL

I use facebook, twitter, and my blog. I see nothing wrong with social media. I just think some people don't use it right, and don't realize they do actually have to think before they post something, because it's always out there once you write it. Plus I find it's a great way to stay in contact with so many people, and has opened up a whole different level of networking for potential employment and other opportunities. It is what you choose to make of it.

Yum, that looks delicious!

Urgh, social media. I have three businesses, and one of them is as a web designer, so sometimes I feel truly overwhelmed by all of the social media options/time sucks. But I think if you refine your goals, and go with one or two and really put the time into them, it's truly amazing how many people you can meet and you integral it can become to your day-to-day!
